Ants in my 06 Si :(

I have a problem. I am at college and I parked my car in the parking lot next to some trees and stuff and the next day there are ants in my car
It has been probably 5 days since then and they are still not gone
I drove over 300 miles today so maybe that will help but I am looking for ideas on how to get rid of them. They seem to be like in my dashboard. I plan on attacking the back of my engine bay with ant killer, any suggestions?

Try spreading Amdro (poison bait) around the area where you normally park...kill 'em at the source. You can get it at Home Depot.

Also, get any food or sugary drinks out of the car and clean up any spills. That's what they're after.

I can't imagine the ants would actually survive the heat from the engine bay. But boy I have no suggestions for you. I mean you could try to fumigate, but then how'd you'd get rid of the smell and all that.

i heard about this same thing happening to someone who bought a new maxima from a dealership. He had the car a few days and noticed the ants. Live ants crawling around and dead ants blowing out the vents. He took it to the dealership and they wouldnt do shit. After contacted the local news station and claiming the car was a lemon they did an investigation. Eventually they traced the source to where the car was parked on the lot in the dealership before he bought it.

Thanks to the news investigation they ended up giving him a new car.

anyways, my suggestions would include putting in traps and possibly taking it to a professional detailer and see what they can do to clean them out... also lay out poison and traps near the area you park...

happened to me, i parked in a spot and a branch just happened to land on my car, they made a nice path from the hood all the way to the rear windshield, as soon as i found out i took it on the highway and brought it up to 120, blew most of them off, and then brushed the rest of them off, luckily for me they were only on the exterior

Yea i am hoping that the drive killed them all. I now avoid parking anywhere near where i was, so they shouldn't come back

Damn. I just pictured taking someone for a ride and having dead ants blow all over them.

I had ants in one of my cars last year. Once the winter time hit it killed all of them and I haven't seen them since. Heat wont kill them unless it's fire. If they are inside, driving around won't kill them either.

Bad karma for laughing about this or something - this morning driving to work, this big ass moth started flying around in my car, then crawled in a vent. Sucker is still in there for all I know.

Vacuum the hell out of your car, and park it in direct sunlight so it gets hot as hell. Not much else you can do
