Am I going to get arrested?

So, i had a speeding ticket back in early january, while i was visiting some friends in Dallas(I live in san antonio). Just got a warrant for my arrest from that court up in dallas. And ive heard they dont come all the way down from there for a speeding ticket that is outstanding, just to arrest someone.

Though, here comes the problem. I lost my drivers license about a week ago, so i need to go to DPS to get a new one..Am i going to get arrested by the cop that is there, even though i have a warrant in a completely different county? thanks.

I highly suggest you pre-lube your asshole before you go there. That way Bubba might not make any messy tears to your o-ring when you get tossed in the clink. Nothing is worse than going to court with bloody underwear.

Probably depends on the local jurisdiction. They absolutely can arrest you, but around here at least, they may let you go if the town that wants you doesnt want to come all the way to pick your ass up.

Dude, you should be able to contact the court that has juridiction in the area where you received the ticket and pay it off. That way they won't come after you. This happened to a friend of mine in Missouri and after paying the ticket the bench warrant was rescinded. Good luck and get the ticket paid as soon as possible.

They might not come to your house, but if you get pulled over, a nice morning ride to the corner store could end with you in jail in your PJ's......

Edit: dunno about your state but in NJ even if you don't have all the $$ contact them and they'll make you a payment plan. Contact them cuz you don't want them to get to you first.......

have somebody go with you to dallas, go to court wherever you got the ticket and request for more time. to pay the ticket. if its doing over a 100 then it can't be reduced or go to traffic school. thats in california at least.

Instead of checking on ways to avoid it, just deal with it, get it taken care of, and then you can get on with your life and not worry about it.

If you get pulled over now, once the officer runs your license, the warrant will show up, and you're pretty much fukt. Good luck!

Just think of the peace of mind you'll have once you get in contact with them. It's a great feeling not having to worry about looking over your shoulder when you go out and not feeling uncomfortable in your own home.....

Sad But True

OP you're fucked either way. Just move to Mexico under an assumed alias and hope the long arm of the law doesn't come and give you a painful anal fisting

yup! If you are proactive, it will be better than winding up being arrested. Head to the Court, explain and most likely you will have to go to Court. Or call a lawyer.

why did you not take care of business in the 1st place. It just makes matters worse in the long run...

contact the court and they will tell you exactly what you need to do to pay off your ticket. Usually it involves sending them a certified check or money order with your case/citation # written on it and payable to [insert name here] court. They will in turn send you a letter stating everything is paid in full and that the warrant has been released

X2.

Courts would much rather have you pay your fines then have you picked up, processed, etc. THAT'S when the legal system starts to get pissed off.

Wonder if was smart enough to pre-lube...or if he got ripped open raw like trying to dry hump a hole in the dessert.

Short answer - yes

Long answer - you're pretty screwed. Lawyer up and take care of this ASAP. The longer you wait the worse it will be.

That must have been a hell of a speeding ticket. Do you mind sharing the details?

Eh, now I'm starting to doubt myself. If the ticket was in Jan - it seems a little soon to be already missing a court appearance, although I'm sure TX is on a totally different schedule than CA courts.
