The ugly ass grill... the ZDX abomination. the RDX being nice but ultimately flopping... the controversial shield crap...
It makes me wonder if all the good looking designs are already taken. Like is honda/acura so concerned about making a look alike that they're trying to get away from other designs and just failing horribly at being different?
I look at this new tesla sedan, and its simply gorgeous... sure its got some jaguar like features, maybe a little maserati thrown in there... but ultimately, it looks freakin awesome! why I ask, can't acura hire decent designers?
The last good looking NEW acura was the previous generation TL. The TSX was good looking too in my opinion, but that was a Japanese design, not designed here in the US.
Anyway what do you guys think?
Even if you dont love this, you've got to admit its better looking than this:

it does have a lot of other designs in it that i can see no argument there, but hell at least they're taking GOOD design elements from other vehicles... i mean the TL is completely unique... but who wants to be unique when unique is just ugly??

Designers are not the problem. It's the higher executives.

The TL could have been so much better if they'd just altered a few things (like the grille and some of the rear end). I think a lot of designs are just crap these days, honestly. There's actually very few cars out there where I like the exterior design.

^ I'd have to disagree on that one. I think I'd actually take the TL over the Buick. Actually, I take that back, I'd take death over either.

If designers want to keep their jobs, they should follow exactly what their higher executives say.
If executives don't like what designers throw at them, I mean all of the design works, designers should find another company to work with.

The Buick is hawt, but I'd never purchase it.

That Buick is 100x better looking than the new TL and i would rather spend my hard earned money on it than the Acura abominations of late.

Honda/Acura better get their act together. Interior fit & finish is just fine (maybe a little too many buttons for the average joe, but nice quality) -- they need to step up their game in design.
I would have loved to stay in the Honda / Acura fold but I had to pass with its current offerings.

I'll stick to upgrading my 'old' but good looking cars

I wouldn't buy either, but if I had to, I'd get the new SHO in a second over the TL.
They stayed in the safe zone with design, more like a 3g TL and a Legacy.

Sorry but given the choice the 4G TL seems like a great car but its one of the last cars I'd buy in that price range/class. Actually, after some deliberation, I don't think there's a single car in my mind that would rank behind the TL.

The 4g TL is so nice inside and the tech is amazing, It is a shame that the design is so terrible. I guess you cannot have everything. I might be a little biased but I think the first gen tsx is one of the better looking sedans around, however it is painfully slow.

There's really nothing about Acura's new corporate look that I find that I find appealing. I'm also dissapointed with Honda/Acura's slow uptake of turbo/supercharging, DI and other more advanced engine technology. They just don't play in Audi or BMW's league in that area.

The same would apply for BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes, I think the European manufacturers known how to design the exterior of a car.

I think Audis have great exterior design, but the 3 series sedan (aside from the M3) and the 5 series are , and the new 7 series isn't bad, but looks too derivative. Oh, and don't forget the 1 series. It seems to me like BMW design has really gone downhill in the past few years.
