That's pretty much what I thought.

I would talk to the legal department. Then I would keep in contact with the officer. Chances are if you put up a fight then he will put up a wall. Try to be humble.

The cop literally took, i.e. confiscated, your out-of-state license & extension??
Call him/a supervisor/desk officer today to get the documents back.
You might want to mention that your former Chief said it was OK to use the non-CA license, but you now have learned otherwise and need it to get a CA license.

G/L!

Rent a car and than bill it to someone responsible for that BS

...even if you have to take it to court to resolve and have someone else pay for a rental. If everything is valid, going to court is a hell of a lot better than losing your job

i can't rent a car if i don't have my license with me. getting a car is not a problem its getting it transfered to a California DL is a problem since the stupid cop took it. im going to complain to that to the judge.

It's not as bad here in Texas but there are WAY more trucks..

To the OP, Sorry to hear that man. Allot of us thought you were messing with us in the 1st gen forum but apparently not.. Hope you get it fixed back up. Doesn't look too bad.

I just don't see that happening. Cops do this kind of crap all the time. You really think that his complaining will do anything? It will be a 2 second reprimand as he's grabbing his 3rd donut of the morning.

To me this is what he has to worry about:

1. Getting CA license.
2. Getting car back.
3. Getting worker comp.
4. Getting car fixed.
5-10. Getting beer.
.
.
.
.
.
.
100. Getting cop in trouble.

Indeed. Please remember that not all cops are bad, though.

No, just the ones that were bullies in school, then when everyone was getting a life they couldnt bully anybody anymore, so thats why they become cops. so they can bully again.
