Only Toyota/Lexus that I am interested in are 2G GS400/430 and the new Tacoma and no question my first choice will be GS. I am not a truck guy, I like sitting close to ground..

The whole recall thing is way overblown. The odds if it occuring are a joke, and the political witch hunt and grandstanding is quite sad.
+100000000

They are being picked on pretty bad at this point IMO.

That's our initial thought... however, my wife (unlike me) likes to get a car she likes and run it into the ground. That said, we'll never own a German car out of warranty, so with her Audi's warranty ending sometime in Feb/March of 2011, looks like we may go Lexus or Infiniti (or possibly a Genesis). I have no problems with her getting another Audi and keeping it till that warranty expires (and so on). We'll see when the time comes b/c she LOVES her A6. My gut says she'll be in another one... but we'll test drive a few to make an educated decision...

Where's the "I wasn't going to buy one anyway because I think they're as interesting as wallpaper paste?" option?

If I could have afforded it at the time, I would have purchased the GS350 AWD instead of my Type-S. I'd still buy it today, but the price is pretty steep, IMO. Lexus really overprices their option packages.

Recalls happen.. nobody is perfect. I think the media really took it out of hand on this one. Well, yeah, it is the largest recall and probably the most important, in history.

Anyone remember the Ford Explorer firestone tires recall? That killed more people.

how long before people forget the current toyota recalls?

i see most people voted yes with the condition of "if there was a model i liked."

would be interesting to see what a poll result would look like if it was a honda/acura or nissan/infiniti (or any of the german makers) instead of toyota/lexus.

This is a true statement.

I didn't like Toyota/Lexus prior to all the safety issues, and I'm not a fan now, well besides the LS, but I would pick the F01 over the LS any day.

Also, I can't be the only person that gets attentive when I see a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Toyota</st1:place></st1:City> on the road, don't want that heap plowing into my G suddenly. The worst is when I'm surrounding by Camry’s on the highway. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

+1. The recalls have no affect on my opinion for them as I would never even consider one in the first place.
