AEM and Unorthodox pulleys
AEM and Unorthodox pulleys
Totally confussed...new to all this and trying my best.
One: Are they worth it for the money?
Two: AEM has a two pulley kit while Unorthodox offers a couple of differnt kits.
Is AEM just bang for ya buck? Which Unothodox kit would you go with and
why?
Three: Do either of these two kits have a greater positive or more importantly
greater negative effect on the vehicle.
Thank you all in advance for your help with this.

the intake is good for ~4-5 hp. the aem pulleys are pretty worthless so no gains there.
can't speak about to the Unorthodox pulleys since i don't own them, but do a search as there has been plenty of discussion about it.

Dont go with the aem pulleys. Back in the day, they were notorious for stressing the altenator. When i had my TL i went with the unorthodox pulley and it was a good decent mod. The gas pedal felt more responsive, but the butt dyno really didnt feel all that much. Also i had a system and i didnt have any alt. problems. But a didt get a slight vibration, even with everything tq'ed to spec and a new crank bolt. And i would just do the crank Pulley, the others might make the steeing response change and also mnake the alt work a lil harder. Seriously, an axle back or a ported throttle body will net you the same increase in power without any side effects.
