Turn the maint required light off

Sorry to jack this thread, because I know this does not belong here.
but I need an answer fast. And I did search, but could not find it.

MY Dad is trading in his 03 RL, and it needs an oil change. The Maint Required light comes on when you start the car, and I forget how to turn it off..

Can anyone quickly help???

I am not sure about the RL but in TL this is how you turn it off:

1. Insert the car key into the ignition, do not turn it.
2. Press and hold down both the “select” and “reset” buttons.
3. While holding down both the above mentioned buttons, turn the key to “ignition”.
4. Do not start the car.
5. Keep holding the buttons down till the “maintenance required” light goes off, it will blink a few times before if goes away.
6. You are done.

Why not just leave it on and tell them that it needs an oil change?

He probably gets his oil change done at the quick lube shop or so, they do not reset the light where as the dealership does.
