Adding lightness to an unlikely car. What will it be?

The m5s are rare and pricey.

OP, yes that is an RL that Spoon entered into an endurance 24 hour race. I suppose it is HKDM RL since it is RHD. 318 HP at the fly wheel with minor modifications and an almost untouched drivetrain.

That m5 on petrolicious...

Get a wrecked Miata... buy this and make it a track car. The Miata body comes off the car and the engine and wiring swap over to the Exocet.
It's different, lightweight and affordable.

Pretty freakin' cool...

Why not? They can be just as capable as rwd. Especially if stripped down like the OP is talking about.

agreed, I have no traction and little torque steer issues with my TL. especial when it was stripped. No Under steer when driven appropriately. and just a little lift off over steer.
I love the volvo idea though. I think wagon would be appropriate. I'm looking for a 740 or a 240. I like the look of the 740's much more.
Can't watch those videos at work, so I'll have to wait till I get home. sound like they are going to be good though!

Post if/when you build it. I started getting crazy thoughts about doing it someday, too. I'm in love with Aerial Atoms but they're expensive, this seems like an amazingly affordable answer to that problem!

And retrofitting it will take about as long as Edd took to fix the Caterham they had in the shop.

Nationals are this weekend so I'm going to see a few car people. I'm going to ask if anyone knows of a good donor Miata for under $1k. I know they're out there... just need to find them

I hear about them going for $700 elsewhere in the country. I found one for $1200 yesterday. I admit it was difficult not making that phone call. especially since some of the body is in decent shape. There is a little bit of a market for miata parts out here. =)
There was this too. Pretty ridiculous. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...079504678.html
