ACURAZINE! I missed you! NEW CAR! Long read 56k beware!

Hey guys! Shoot, it's been a crazy long time since I've been on here, some of you remember me, my username was typeSvirus, but I guess it was deleted due to inactivity.

Anyways to refresh some peoples memories, I had an 02 Acura TL-P in the gold color.

I then ended up selling the TL and went inactive for a few months, only to come back strong when I purchased an 03 RSX Type-S

I then ended up selling the RSex for what I paid for it, $6,500 and used all the money to purchase a salvaged 2009 Subaru Impreza 2.5i 5 speed.

I then lowered it on Tein S springs

Said it was time for some wheels, so without doing much research like a moron, I bought white rota torques 18x9.5" lol...wrapped in 245/50/18 Nitto Neogen Tires...it say the least they didn't fit right and rubbed.

My buddy has 07 WRX so I told him, for $1000 cash and his stock WRX wheels, I'd give him the rotas because he was in love with them. So I left that day and my car looked like this in till the day I sold it.

Now it gets to the fun part, my buddy tells me one day he saw a Legacy GT for sale, so I did some searching and found it at a Toyota Dealer, set up a date to go see it, test drove it and fell in love. 2 days later I made the purchase, ended up trading my red impreza for $6,500.00 it had 35k miles on it and a lot of small problems.

The 2006 Legacy GT Spec B

I know I don't have an Acura anymore, but I missed the racing section, no other forums has such laid back people...

Ha, I never plan on it honestly, I've been wanting something boosted since before I could drive, so I think this Legacy will be sticking with me for many many years.

First race EVER since I purchased the car is this video, the story is...

I get off of work at 9pm and afterwards meet all my co-workers and friends at a local hookah lounge place. This time my manager tagged a long in his EVO X and it was parked outside. While just kicking it and smoking, these Arab kids asked me if I knew the owner of the EVO and if he would be interested in running a 2010 Mercedes Benz ML63 AMG.

I told them that it was my managers car and that he was leaving and couldn't run but that I would attempt to give them a run in my Legacy. They laughed at me and asked if I knew what an ML63 AMG was, I said yeah I know it's got like over 500hp, I'd lose but I want to know where I stand.

I took my co-worker, and they took a passenger in the ML63 as well, we go onto an empty highway (sort of) and did like 10 pulls, we got his pull on video, tooken by my friends iPhone 4. As you can see, they were damn surprised by my family grocery getter and I got alot of respect from them afterwards which I thought was legit.

So after I got the car I wanted to see where it stands next to something like a stage 2 STI.
It's an 06 STI with an godspeed dp, invidia exhaust, intake, cobb accessport flash tune, turbo supposed to be pushing 19psi but the tune got messed up and it ran at I suppose 12psi, or 14psi I forget.

Anyways, this is our race without powershifting, I would like to re-run him because the only time he pulled was during my slow shifts, I fell off boost completely and it killed me.

My friends WRX wheels were kind of curb rashed.

ha the legacy was a dream car and that was a reg one to end up with a fairly rare 06 spec b, I don't see myself letting it go in a long long long time.

It was tuned in Toledo by "Pure Tuning", quite the good Subaru tuners.

My next mod I have no idea, I feel like my car is to quite so I might do a full 3" catless turbo back single exhaust, I wanna do some research and see if I can run an Invidia N1 racing exhaust.

After that, probably a FMIC then a 2.5r dominator bolt on turbo with supporting fuel mods, should net me close to 380whp and 400wtq

what is this Cleveland you speak of. We try to keep it as safe as possible, it gets hard with a lot of cars...but after almost 2 years, not even one single mishap.

If you ever want to run, which I'm sure your V will dominate 90% of our members feel free to add me on Facebook then I'll join you into our group "GrippedOhio" in the summer we cruise down on sundays to superfly in Akron, very relaxing and fun.

Living in Ohio, the Subaru makes the winter so so so much better. Sometimes I do wish I still had the RSX so my bank account would be fat right now and the RSX would be boosted. I'm happy with my choice, I would have bought the Legacy even if it wasn't Spec B, I'm just a hardcore Subaru fan, the boxer motor with the UEL headers is music to my ears, I'll have to make a video sometime.

Another thing that makes me happy with my choice, is my friend has an RSX-S with a Greddy turbo, his car is kind of a pile and the tranny is already gone, 3rd and reverse are no go lol. I admit he is quick but I'm still side by side by him, on the highway I'd pull massively from a dig.

Very nice LGT. My SpecB is the H6, and love the car to death.

You should join us over in the Subaru love thread:

Also, join Legacygt.com. I have the same user name there.

I can see where you are coming from now. AWD is always nice to have, I kinda of wish I had it now in CT lol. I can also see where you are coming from as far as speed goes. I drove a few mazdaspeed 3s(similar to subarus) and WRXs and they are definately tourque monsters. But I guess I'm just a little biased towards Acura and their amazing top end power.

I'm a huge Acura fan at heart and always will be. Acurazine is the BEST forums ever with the most fun members who aren't complete twats.

I joined legacygt.com i posted some of my runs on there and they flamed me to all hell, it sucked.

That's too bad. I posted there a bit, under the performance mods / DIY and it was OK. But there are some that are teabaggers. Just stay on here for the friends, but go there to look up certain mods. Also, NASIOC.com is pretty good (Imprezza centered, but good Subaru info none the less).

Alrighty, so I got my car on the lift finally to take a look at my exhaust and see what's going on. I have a very nice stainless steel up-pipe catless of course but it goes to a CATTED Cobb down pipe, I then inspected the rest of the exhaust and was kind of upset, it looked very home made back yard welded, ugly.

My next step is to find a shop that is skilled enough to cut out my cat and weld up another piece in it's place without ruining my $300+ downpipe. After that's done up, I need to find a cat back.

I'm thinking about doing a single exhaust, 4" outlet possibly a burnt tip.

Here is where I need help, do you guys think I should just buy the muffler and get a straight pipe welded to the cat and then just rid myself of the old exhaust?

Or should I buy a catback from a branded company? :\

So I went on there and make a thread about it, since I didn't find any related in exhaust forum. I make it, then get flamed for not apparently searching. So I search it and find find any thread with custom shop made exhausts... legacygt.com is FAIL.

Decided to look around a find a nice burnt tipped muffler, then getting is custom, I think this way it'll produce the loudest sound, we'll see I'm willing to possibly bite the bullet if my idea goes bad.

We'll update thread with current exhaust note then another one when I change it.

here is my current exhaust, it's pretty quiet but still not to bad...I'm thinking about going with an Invidia Q300 catback exhaust, legacy forums is having a group buy for $635 shipped, not to shabby!

here is how it would look.
