Acura Technician from NC, AcuraZine Newb!

Not sure where most people have their intro threads, but here goes nothing!

Name is Jamie, high level Acura technician out of Crown Acura in Greensboro, NC.

I figure I have a special set of knowledge and skills of these vehicles why not join the forum and see if I can help some people out!

Associates degree in applied science (Auto Systems Technology), 4.5 years experience so far!

Please feel free to ask any technical, sales, support questions you might have. From how to fix something, to VIN Inquiry, to model information and specs I have ya covered with Acura support! Not looking to step on any toes here, just trying to help out the people that keep me employed!

Probably old news around here, but I will leave with a picture of the new RLX in the physical production form. I recently (last week) did the first Pre Delivery Inspection of an RLX at our dealer!

Welcome. I'm sure questions and comments will arrive in short order but i will start.
What do you drive? What do you think of the RLX?

I actually own a Mini Cooper S at the moment, waiting towards the end of the year to try and spring for an MDX.

I LOVE the car, BMW and Mercedes should be on the lookout, cabin space front and rear is superb. Driving comfort and quality is outstanding. It out handles the competition, and has some interesting technology and creature comforts as well.

It is also the QUIETEST direct injection car I have ever heard nearly silent at idle. The ELS system is great, but the real star power is in the new Krell audio package. Precision All Wheel Steer and 310hp are enough information to back up the handling claim. I think the price is a little steep for a Tech package, but hey I only fix them I dont design or build them.

Welcome!

I drove the RLX a few days ago, it is VERY quiet at idle. In fact, I couldn't hear or feel the engine after startup. It was truly Lexus-like.

Welcome! It'll be amazing to have some of your knowledge and access to help out some of the folks here! Sometimes a lot of stuff that might be common knowledge to you gets lost in translation for us. I still remember removing seats in my 04 TL and the tech telling me to push down while unclipping the seat bottoms to make it easier rather than breaking the clips again!

Welcome aboard! Just to give you a little lay of the land... Car Talk is more off-topic for car discussion not centerred around Acura. The links across the top of Acurazine will bring you to the model specific forums where the discussions are more focused. Definitely be sure to visit those sections as well since I know the membership there would love to interact with you. My guess is that is where you will get a lot more Acura related questions.

So enjoy your stay here and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any of the moderator/admin staff!

Welcome to the forum You knowledge will be greatly appreciated here.

What is the chance I get a dealer to let me driver my car into service area to have work done? It has a significant amount of work done, not much is left stock, and it is rather low. I need to find a trusted dealer tech to perform some A/C maintenance and do a recall replacement on the power steering hose. I don't trust the local dealer here after some bad stories I have heard.

Welcome! Your experience and access to Acura service can be much appreciated here.

Many in Car Talk claim they used to love owning Acura, but now, they only love to bash it. Keep that in mind here and take their comments with a grain of salt. There is still plenty of love in the model specific forums.

Yep. We sure do love bashing Acura, or just accepting the fact it isn't 2004 anymore.

To the user above "cccolsticehockey" if you dont mind the drive, come to crown here in Greensboro and ill get you taken care of we do a lot of modified acuras here as most of my guys owned highly modified cars.

The local European performance shops use us to do alignments and such on their highly technical and expensive cars so we are widely trusted.

Shoot me an email we can chat further I can get ya squared away.

It was just a fair warning to someone who takes pride in their company coming to a site self-titled "the unofficial Acura enthusiast resource." It doesn't really matter to me what your reasons are. Most new people don't understand and end up getting flamed.

JB already gave the "fair warning."

His company is the dealer he works for, not Acura.

Jamie. Welcome!

There are a few AZ members in Greensboro and I'm in the Raleigh area. Go to the "Regions" section at the top and look for the Charlotte meet coming up this Saturday!

You think it's bad here?

say one negative thing about an Acura in its respective subforum, and suddenly masses of owners come in their white knight armor to defend their car. Many owners are like this. They're even here in Car Talk sometimes, except they can't handle the criticism. It's even worse in Auto News.

Nearly every big car forum is like this. see: VWvortex

Welcome and yeah it's nice to have a certified tech on the forums who works on them for a living.

I'm taking apart my radio this weekend trying to fix the dreaded CD player that seems to have a systematic problem. Getting the radio out a 3G TL is not fun either

Hey I am having trouble locating the MICU part #. I have a problem with my doors not autolocking whether it be through the keyfob or door button. I am still able to manually lock the doors though. I have been searching extensively online and it does seem like the multiplex integrated control unit is to blame.
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/door-wont-autolock-cold-wet-weather-881549/

I cant seem to find this part when I search for parts, any help?

Thanks

OP, sorry for having my comment drag out into this, but as you can see, they don't like being told they dislike Acura either.

Thread proves you wrong, OP just posted how much he likes the RLX and not a single person bashed his opinion on it. We instead welcomed him to the forums.

Welcome to the forums!

Sorry as this is my first post and I understand that I may have no "substance" because I am a first time poster, but I made an account to just warn everyone of this guy Jamie Adkins

He is a scammer and has scammed several hundreds and thousands of dollars from car enthusiasts on the internet and locally in NC

http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ml#post3719745

please refer to this thread on northamericanmotoring, with my experience and research

As to help other enthusiasts with acuras in NC, I would recommend keeping away from CROWN because Jamie REPRESENTS Crown and I would not want anyone working on my car who steals money from other car lovers.

ADMIN if you feel this post is inappropriate because I am a first time post please PM me, and i can give you details of the situation and such to show you how malicious this guy is.

Thank you

After extensive checking and research, I am firmly convinced that this person has no right to be in any forums, and especially not in ours.

He posted this thread, and two others like it, on the same date, 02-25-2013, and has not returned to any of the threads as of this date. So much for helping people out.

http://www.acura world.com/forums/f152/acura-technician-nc-acura-forum-newb-103112/ (fill in the space between acura and world)

http://tsxclub.acuraforums.com/forum...ad.php?p=15100

These threads in different user names but still done by Technician Czar help support the allegations.

nahookup user title Boost Czar, which is another user name for technician czar.
http://www.carolinahondas.com/way-of...-nahookup.html

Jamie Adkins is Technician Czar whose email user name is jadkins http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=282448

And this post http://www.motoringunderground.com/f...598#post779598

Technician Czar has been banned.
