Acura less reliable than Audi?
Well total thread derail, but since we are on the topic... I looked up fuel economy for the Golf R verse Type R. How does the Golf get identical consumption numbers, having a 2.0L turbo like the civic, yet powering all four wheels as opposed to only two?
Also, how does the STi get such worse mileage than both of those cars, having a bigger turbo engine and pushing less boost, and still connected to all four wheels, like the R?

It does have a haldex system. So the subie is full time AWD, where the Golf is only AWD under low traction scenarios? Hmmm the numbers seem to make sense if that is the case... and with how it can match the civic in terms of fuel economy.
though I feel like when I took an R for a test drive, I could feel the power going to the rear wheels through a corner, without the front actually slipping. At least I don’t think it was slipping. Stepped on it while halfway through a turn to see what would happen. Complete and utter control is what happened. Just point the wheel where you want to go and apply throttle. Everything beyond that was magic.

Haldex is a beautiful thing ...
6MT Golf-Rs with the right tune / launch control MOVE OUT from a stop ... all you hear is a chirp and they're car lengths ahead of you.
Buddy of mine pulls consistent 1.7 60's on his street tires.

The STi gets much worse fuel economy because the engine is ancient, the car is heavy AF, and the drivetrain is the same as it was back in 2005.
Yup. And the DSG ones are even faster. I don't think mine will even chirp the tires if using launch control.
Look at the where the Odyssey and Clarity ranks in terms of reliability. There was a time when the Honda/Acura name was up there, side by side, with Toyota/Lexus for well-built cars, but those days are no more.
I can only imagine the reactions of these buyers, thinking they're buying traditional Honda reliability.

I don't think some ranking on some website will all of a sudden make the person feel like their car was a steaming pile of shit. If they are the minority that have the problems then they probably already feel that way. Plus, we are dealing with a ranking of the exceptions here, not the rule.

I think it also matters what you deem unreliable.
Like me, for instance...if the car gets me where I'm going but has minor annoyances and little things break here and there, my general perception isn't that the car sucks.
Not everyone would feel that way.

I’ve seen on AZ a number of times where people bought a brand new Acura because of its perceived reliability... only to be quite shocked with what they are experiencing, in terms of a lack of reliability.
It’s not everyone. We know these issues only impact a certain percentage of vehicles. But it’s still there.
And none of this is new. Acura’s reliability has been slipping over the last decade or so. It’s rare to actually be left stranded. But it still sucks having to do warranty claims. It’s a waste of your day. The more it happens, the more annoying it becomes.

They make Apple iPhone launch-day lineups look like nothing. RLX-SH inventory goes faster than me fapping in a robot store in Japan...it's insanity. The line-up almost circles the globe. Almost. I had no choice to settle for my vapor-S5 because the Acura dealership laughed at me when I asked about the RLX and hung up...this is after I was on hold for THREE WEEKS straight. That is how busy their lines were. Can you believe it?!?!?
All for the RLX.
Sure it is, I see at least one every single day.
And this, my friends, is why Land Rover is still in business.

No sir, there are NO people with trouble free Land Rovers!

J loves em...I talked to my buddy that's a purchaser for carmax...he's like bro, I've had a corporate loaner twice and both times they left me stranded. That's a no.
