An acura goodbye...but (no 56K)

i got myself a new toy.

05 Infiniti FX35 AWD, touring package, sport package, black on black
the deal: $700 below invoice!
Had a lease payoff of 20,544 on my 04 tsx and they gave me 20,544 for my trade and payed it off.
i put 1,100 down and got the fx for 450/mo 39 months
msrp- $42,610.00

After 2 years with the TSX, i have moved on to something totally different. Its not that i was sick of or didnt like the tsx anymore, i just wanted something different. And different it is! The tsx was a great car but i think the FX is unbelievable. I always wanted one and now my dream has come true. 280 hp and 270 tq is out of control. Top end power throws you back in your seat.

Thank You
I owe alot of thank yous to the people of AcuraZine through that past 2 years. So much information, drama, some crap here and there, and people who just love their acuras. I wouldnt know half as much about cars as i do now. I will miss the tsx but the FX beast is a good replacement

Here is a short rundown of my begining inpressions of the FX(if any of you guys care)

Exterior.
well....what is their to say. Its a beautiful car. Period! I opted for the Sport package which gets you the 20" wheels, and aluminum roof racks, tinted tailights and headlamps. This is my first black car, so i already am being paranoid about the water spots and dust! hahaha

Interior.
Pretty decent leather, the "Infiniti" in the seats is awesome, gauges are not even close to acura styling though, gotta love the signature clock, suprisingly very roomy(fit 4 guys and 4 golf bags in it the other day), small race like steering wheel, memory seats and strerring wheel(!), etc....all the usual toys in an upscale vehicle

Power.
the V6 with 280 hp is delicious! The fx is so responsve at the gas pedal and the growl is so cool. I find myslef punching it more and more just to hear the exhaust. The manumatic is OK.

Handling
also suprised the sh** out of me. I think it handles better then my tsx on 18's and springs. Seriously it sticks to the road and then just picks up and goes! I am sure the 20's help. And the barkes are also top notch. no more brake issues!!!

Overview.
I love it more and more every hour of the day. i am like a little kid in a candy store with it. I will have to get used to the dip in gas milage though. I feel as if it makes a statement on the road and the looks i get are non stop. i already dropped in a K&N air filter and the $5,000 supercharger! HAHAHAHAH yea right!

So i hope i dont regret getting rid of the 4 banger. i will still be around reading up on all you guys(espcially the tsx people), keep up the modding! Once again than you guys!
Now foe the pictures. enjoy! sorry some might be slightly burry. camera kinda sucks

20's!!

Great car, congrats!

If I felt like I could see better out the rear window, we'd have the same car.

Love the technology package!

I usually don't like SUVs, but if I was ever to get one, this would be the one...well FX45, but close enough.

Very good pickup. I've always been in love with the FX35, particularly in that unusual copper color.

Hot vehicle…..I love the FX body style. Sporty, aggressive, but not too big.

Although like most Nissan / Infiniti stuff, I’m not too crazy about the interior.
If they made the interior a little more attractive and put in a manual Tranny with the V8, I might be driving one myself.

Great car....would love to pick one up myself, but just a little too much $$ for me right now.

Great color and I LOVE the new tails on those things, I think you should smoke out the tails and it would REALLY look good....just my opinion though.

good buy!

This is a total apples to oranges type of change. I don't like the way that thing looks either. The interior is nice though. I had an SUV once. Never again. It felt like I was carrying around all that extra weight and paying extra money at the gas station for nothing.

I had a FX35 rental and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Got a ticket in Louisiana to prove it too!

The funny thing about the FX is that if raise the seat high enough you feel like your in an SUV but if you lower the seat you feel like your in a car.

Unfortunately I don't think I'd ever be able to get one because we are 1-SUV 1-Car family. we need 3 rows of seats in our SUV and over 30mpg in our car. If we didn't have these parameters I'd def. get an FX with the Tech. package!

I really don't like SUV's either. But i wouldn't exactly consider the FX an SUV. I sat in my friend's black FX35 and very fast. Handles really well too. It takes some time to get used to the look I guess, but I was surprised how nice it was. Its a little higher than wagons but lower than SUV's.

That's pretty much how I feel about the FX and Murano. While they are technically SUVs, they handle well enough for me to not regard them like I do other SUVs.
