Absolute car hoonage -- where?
So. It's 4 a.m., you've got an anvil for a foot, and tires that beg for a thrashing. You're not idiotic enough to feed this demon on public roads and private parking lots aren't a big enough canvas for your artistry. Where do you go?
My unlikely dream was a deserted airfield near LA. I watched people on the salt flats (Top Gear) recently and it got me thinking... what place scratches your itch?

Airfield runways... if you can get in somehow. Not at a big international airport or something, one of those smaller airfields where they have private flying lessons.
My friend put 110 octane in his 300 rwhp MR2 Turbo (that's tuned on 91) and he hauled ass! Big wide open spaces, just stay away from the hangars or whatever area its called where the planes are parked.
Just don't be like that kid in the new Mustang that hit a Cessna and totaled it.

LA is pretty big, do you mean like downtown?.
I can't really think of anywhere like an empty air field. Maybe some big parking lots like at the rose bowl, but i doubt you'd get away w/ very much there.
Angeles Crest can be fun, but it is a public road. I know two people that almost killed themselves there too.

Been on Angeles... ridiculous fun. I know a guy who lost control and drove off a mini-cliff there.

Shit. You got a specific location/map link? Probably worth a drive out if it's playground enough.

ill get the long/lat for you if ya want, theres several out in witchita falls tx, san angelo tex, and (closed airforce base) kelly tx, close to san antonio. I've been stationed near all those and the kelly one is by far the best, a couple of guys i met w/ bikes one day at a McDs told me about it. you have to drive through a hacked open fence, but once you get on the runway (especially on a full moon night) its heaven. no cops, no one around for miles. just you and the machine.
let me know if you have a gps, i'll get all the long/lats for ya. got em saved in my unit

Seriously though, at this time of year, you could find an empty lot and just drift around. Would be especially fun in an RS4.
Too bad you're in L.A.

Yeah, need to hunt for an unobstructed lot big enough to be fun. Still, the allure of an empty airfield is... something else.
