Is a 95 Nissan a good car?

Looking to get a 95 Nissan Altima. Saw it at a dealer. It' s the GXE model, has all the good features, 60K miles, 1 owner FL car. It's for my mom. Anyone know if it's reliable? Anyone had a simlar car? Carfax for what it's worth checked out ok. It looks & drives fine, & don't see any paint/body work, doesn't seem to have any problems. Never had any Nissan products before.

My parents have leased Altimas since their release, and they have never had a problem with any one of them. Between them they've had about 8 or 9 Altimas over the years... and again.. no problems.

I've had several Nissans...always did well. 95 240, 98 240 both had similar engines to the Altima...made plenty of get-up-&-go.

My best friend had a 95 or 96 Altima...and he beat the livin snot outta it...never broke down.

Overall, the Nissans are good cars.

I HAD AN 01 MAX BEFORE I GOT MY CL. I LIKED IT ALOT FOR THE PRICE I PAID. I KNOW PLENTY OF PEOPLE WITH THE 95,96 MAXIMA AND THEY STILL RUN GREAT SO I BELEIVE THE ALTIMA SHOULD BE THE SAME.

From what I recall from Consumer Reports, only the 93-94 Altimas had some issues but, they must have been mostly worked out by the 95 model year (given CR's rating for 95+ Altimas being avg->above avg).

Peace

Nissan makes great cars. My 93 sentra has been beat since the day I bought it and the other day I replaced a valve cover gasket and the head looks barely worn. It has 130000 miles

I have a 1994 Nissan Altima before it was toalled 1.5 years ago. Never had a single problem! Beat the living shit out of it too. The Altima's use the SAME trannies as the Maxima's, just a de-tuned valvebody, therefor very robust.

95 Altima is a very solid car. When Nissan was worried about making quality/value cars. The 95 Altima interior is 10 times better than the 9 years newer 04 Altima interior. Of course not as fast but if you want 245hp in a damn grocery getter, your on drugs.

Thanks for the responses so far. Looks good.
A solid car that doesn't break down is what my mom wants.

Well picked the car up this weekend. Did a full Zaino job on it including clar bay. Man what a bitch! Car seems good My mom is happy. Although she has no luck with cars so we'll see. Already her rear view mirror fell off Have to get the repair kit to glue it back. Also need to replace the discolored passanger headlight. Here are a few pics.
