And, the last test I saw of the 997GT2, it ran 11.4 @ 127.9 - it is MUCH faster than the regular T.

seriously, the stats on the 2 cars are so similar.. there's no way that the Z06 could lose that badly

Porsches Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) and VarioCam Plus (Vtec on steroids) makes 505 lb/ft of torque from 2200 to 4500 RPM then rolls up to its 530 hp at 6500. It has Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Stability Management (PSM). All that combines to a ridiculous transition of power to the road with no wheel spin or unsettling body movement. Then you've got Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) to shave the speed off when necessary.
Nothing against the Vette, but it's like comparing NASA to some kids with a bottle rocket.

Lets all agree that the GT2 is a little faster than the ZO6. It shouldn't get beat as bad as it did in the video though. In the hands of weekend racers on a road course, however, the quickest lap is going to the better driver. The cars aren't so far apart in performance that a slightly better driver in the ZO6 couldn't make up the difference. Just R-compound tires alone would let the ZO6 walk the GT2 hands down. (I know, I'm stating the obvious with that one).
