I think they would be more intimidating with a 700hp H1.

I think they really need to down-size those wheels. Also note the brakes look like they haven't been upgraded. I will laugh when the stock brakes fail at 100+mph. With 26" wheels and the curb weight of the H2 it will be difficult to slow down.

From the link...

The GeigerCars.de high-performance brake system with 380-millimeter perforated and vented discs and eight-piston fixed calipers on the front axle delivers enormous fade-free stopping power.
Reading is underrated...

Wow, I bet the taxpayers love to see their hard-earned money being spent on that!

This better have been a drug confiscated vehicle and money.

Even if it was, there are better ways to spend the money, such as community relations. This is stupid, especially in the midst of all the budget shortages and cuts. This sheriff needs to learn a lesson on how to better spend taxpayers' money. I bet he also spends lavishly on other perks in the name of the Sheriff's Office.

Nice tucked parka and mustache, asswipe.

I bet for the money it cost to make this you could get a CTS-V wagon cop car with some extras. I think that would be more intimidating

I'm calling on this one. I did a search and all the hits are basically the same article posted on various sites. None of them mention what county, the sheriff's name, etc., which you usually see in these types of stories. If legit, how the hell did the sheriff justify spending so much money on it, especially the ridiculous wheels?

The article says the truck hasn't been delivered yet. So the cop in the photos is probably just a model they are using for promotional shots.

It would make sense that the Sheriff who ordered this would want to keep his new ride a secret. The article says it would be his personal vehicle. Imagine the street cred points for stealing that thing. And after it gets delivered, it will probably get a new paint job. And if he is the county Sheriff and not just a deputy, he is an elected official and makes pretty decent money. I'd imagine he bought the hummer with his own personal money.

Agreed. Seems like more of a publicity stunt by the german tuning company.

The more I look into it, the more it looks like a hoax. Also, this story is over 4 years old.

I didnt feel like reading but quick observations from the picture:

1) No dept. is listed on the truck, obviously the county name would be there.
2) What kind of sheriff wears a hat with a badge, looks fake.
3) What cop ever keeps his gun out of the holster
4) Uniform definately looks fake
5) Front Geiger plate is euro plate

Which leads me to conclude, and i'm going out on a limb here..that this Hummer never left Germany and was just used for PR. How hard is it to find a German guy with a well groomed moustache? Even the scenery looks European to me.
