why don't u buy gran turismo5 with logitech steering and drive all the cars u want..lol

personally I say 5 series is more fun to drive

get 335i with vishnu ecu upgrade stage2. it will give u 12.1~12.4 seconds for 1/4 mile at around 112~115 mph with 4.1~4.4 for 60 mph and u can enjoy 410~430 hp with 450 plus torque LOL

if u want more faster one..then just get 135i with sport package..slightly faster than 335i
135i is 198lbs lighter than 335i..

ah...can't wait for all new acura CL, hope they don't mess up with grilles like other acuras

Features for features, the E-Class will give you more for your money. If money wasn't an issue, I would get the 5 series with a nice amount of goodies...

The W211 is only a year older than the E60. My vote also goes to the E60 but the reason is not due to style rather balance.

I have not driven the 535i nor M5 but have driven the 530i, 545i and 550i. Honestly, it is THE benchmark sports sedan.

E-class looks better...inside and out. I think the early year ones had a ton of problems though...

The 5 series is a hot car but interior doesnt stick to me. Looks weird. I shouldve added 3rd Gen TL to the poll also, oh well. Why is the 5 series so weak? Which one of these cars are more reliable?

3G TL is obviously not in the same league for sure.

What do you mean by 5 series being so weak?

Being the car the 5 series is i would hope it would have a more powerful engine but seems to be the same as the 3 series. 255hp, i would imagine it being atleast 300, thats just my opinion. How come a 3g TL cant be compared? Its seems to be just as nice as those cars besides having a hefty price tag.

the 5 series and E class Benz is a larger car. plus depending on how you option it out and what motor you get in a E-class or 5 -series is how much more it is vs 3rd gen TL.
probably good rival to the 3rd gen TL-S is either a G35 or 335(but that's pushing it)

530i = 255hp
535i = 300hp
545i = 325hp
550i = 367hp

There's more to it than just horse power. You'll have to test drive one for yourself to understand, make sure to ask for one with Sport Package.

There is a reason car manufacturers look at the 5-series as bench mark for sport sedan.

I've always been a fan of the 5-series, the current generation took a while to grow on me but I really like them now and if it were between a E class and a 5 series I would be all over a 5'er. I've never driven an E that excited me, admittedly I've never driven the AMG models, but non-AMG cars are more of luxo cruisers then sport sedans, in my opinion anyway.

Thanks for the heads up, didnt even notice the 535 I only looked at the 525,530,545,550. For some reason the TL just started looking better to me then the 5. Ill have to take the advice and test drive it and see what it turns out to be .

Keep in mind that for ~$1400 you can get a piggyback for the 535i and add another hundred or so pound feet of torque, and over 50 horsepower as well

And if you like the current E-Class's looks (which I think is very upscale and beautiful), you might want to get on the ball. There's a thread in car news and some rendering of the next gen. I think it looks like

you may want to recheck whatever ratings you are looking at.

having driven both in many variations (having worked at a BMW dealership and currently at an MB dealership) the E gets my vote. anything E550 and up hands the 5 it's ass in my opinion, although i think the M5 (both 39 and 60) are amazing machines in their own right.

my personal fave would have to be the CLS though. nothing on the road looks like it, except for the new Passat CC.

and you haven't lived until you've taken a C63 for a demo. if i had a cool $60k laying around, i'd buy the black one in our show room in a heartbeat. pure evil.

The current E class style seem too old for mercedes, especially with the C class redesigned. I would pick the 5 series to look sharp...I always see old people drive E class...since your 21...5 would do u good

For this reason, I voted E-class. I've seen some 5 series that I have liked, but I liked the last gen 5 series better...

Then again... I'm also looking for more of a cruiser then a sports sedan now. I have my bike for sport . Plus... I'll probably pickup a small drop-top which will also fill the need for a sporty ride.

If you're looking at six-cylinder cars, 5 Series, without a doubt.

V8s? That's more open to discussion. BMW makes a sweet, smooth 4.8L 360hp in the 550i, but M-B's massive 5.5L 380hp monster can be hard to resist.
