4-door BMW M3xi ?? *pics*
oddest thing...
i pull into parking lot on my lunch break and park next this 4-door gray-green metallic bimmer. upon pulling in i saw it had a "M3 xi" badge on the back. too my knowledge, there is no such thing. upon closer inspection, i noticed it had big m3 wheels, 18", maybe 19"... it also had the trademark m3 gills on the side fenders.
so i'm like... ok. this guy went all out and got his fenders done. big deal. the back obviously isn't m3 style tho. however, the whole front bumper was that of an m3. ok fine, he got his front bumper done too. now, i get out of my car and notice the thing that tipped the scale. this guy had a SMG tranny. i would've taken a pic of it with my camera phone, but i didn't wanna look too conspicuous snapping pics at this guys car. it was a chromed out smg shifter and all. interior had the m3 style seats as well.
could it be? some guy wanted an m3 really badly, but also wanted a 4dr w AWD, so he bought a 330xi, got the fenders done as well as the front bumper (guess he didn't like the back kit, couldn't tell u why), slapped on m3 wheels, swapped seats, and dropped an SMG tranny in there? thats alot of dough. think he even possibly has an m3 engine as well??? or does this guy have a good ass hook up in germany?
either way, it was pretty pimp

I thought that you could get a SMG Tranny in a 3-Series, because I saw a 3-Series drop-top at the dealer one day a few weeks back with SMG. I didn't notice if it was a 330ci or a 325. Oh, and that car is definitely riced out, although if he has a fake M3 badge, maybe he has a fake xi badge as well. Anyways, the tail lights are ugly as sin.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what is the SMG tranny all about. I went looking at some M3's the other day and noticed that option. It was a Sunday, so the BMW place was closed.
Thanks

It's BIMMER. Not Beemer. Bimmer is for cars, beemer is a motorcycle. :P
I'm guessing there was no SMG tranny in there... you can buy the shifter from parts dept. Should be a direct fit to a 330/325 car.
Chrome tail lights? Does anyone have a gun?

Imagine having an auto tranny that shifts 2-3 times faster that you could shift in a man. tranny car.
They're fairly amazing. 6 levels of shifting. Level 6 is like a normal auto. Level 1 is like driving an F1 car.
Pop the control on Level 1 and floor the car... tires come off in 1st, 2nd, 3rd - no sweat. Very, very cool.
