I'd say TL for the looks, power and better resale value.Maxima is good too, not something I would get though. You can't really go wrong with either one.

first of all, compare the 3G tl-S to the infiniti g35, luxury to luxury, motor to motor in the same class. In my opinion, if you want a car that is fast, but don't care about the interior nor the MPG, the infiniti is your best bet. If you want something that is quick, gets good MPG, and has a great interior and exterior, the 3G TL is for you.

i'd say TL.

looks are subjective, but i prefer the TL's exterior and interior. i also thought the TL was more fun to drive. the maxima is very powerful, but it's a pretty big car and felt like a boat at times. the interior's been hugely upgraded, but it still looks cheap compared to the TL's.

but i've always been a big fan of maximas. i nearly bought one instead of my TSX.

but i know many people that cross shop the two cars due to similar pricing, size, and power. true, they're not direct competitors, but there is a common marketplace.

I rented the 07 Maxima SE for a day and it really is one powerful car, 0 to 60 is probably the same as the TL but its that constant torque that makes it feel faster. Any gear stomp on it and you can feel the pull of the front as it rushes to it high rpm in the CVT tranny. I find it more fun than the auto TL which feel somewhat sluggish off the line.

The interior does feel very cheap though, I rented the cloth seat one. Felt kind of funny, a Maxima with cloth.

I have an 06 Maxima SE and it's a very nice car. Almost 30K miles now and not a single issue- not even any rattles. Gas mileage could be better and the orange interior lighting scheme is not my favorite.
