02 TL-S bone stock VS 02 maxima with intake and exhaust
well we got 3 good races, here's the story...

1st run..... we did a role from 70mph-115mph.... i pulled alittle bit on him in third and then he passed me by about 1 1/2 cars in fourth by the time we stopped..

2nd run..... we did a role from 50-120mph... 2nd gear we were even third i would pull alittle bit again then top end he would pass me

3rd run.... from a stop the maxima didn't get a good launch but i did and i was ahead the hole way until i forgot to shift into 3rd but ended up finishing up side by side..

this was just a friendly race... props to matt that maxima is fast it ran a 14.2@96mph on street tires and 13.7@98mph on slicks...

my car is slow 4 gears -vs- 5 not fair lol. Nice runs though I want a rematch from a stop when its dry:P . That tls surprised me but it was about what I expected until I had king kong ride with me

 

BULLSHIT..there's no way a TLS is gonna lose to a Maxima....j/k, i gots the vid, but cant hook the camera up to the comp, so hopefully we'll get a digital camera for the next encounter....that Max pulls good top end....

The A4 looks awesome. I had a 03 CVT as a loaner a while back. The interior is almost identical to my dads 02' A8. The only problem I have with the 1.8T is that it isnt refined. Either way, I think my mom is going to get a A4 3.0 sport next fall.

As for defending the Maxima, there is nothing to defend. Blu is a good driver and doesnt BS.

 

I wish I could argue to the contrary but, the new A4 looks WAY COOL!!

Anyway, there no real contest between an I/E modded 2K2 Max and a stock TL-S. It would be more interesting to see a Comptech I/H equipped TLS run against Blu.

I would get pulled on pretty good until about 100 were I start gaining back . My car is not a highway monster and gearing sucks this was just for fun

 

I actually haven't seen teh A8 interior yet, but I know that car is huge! You are right. The 1.8t is a 4 cyclinder, and defintely isn't as refined as any V6. But it is smoother than alot of 4's I have been in. But I love the gas milege especially these days with the gas prices.

How does a STOCK Tl-S run neck & neck w/ a Maxima (from a dead stop ) that runs the 1/4 in 14.3 on stock tires??

P.S. Blu, i'm very interested in modding my Maxima, what were your highest three mods in terms of power yields? Have you gotten any gripe from your dealership w/ service issues?

My stock Tl-S ran a 15.3 ...

blue's car is fast but over all blue's car isn't much faster than the TL-S i raced him with

 

tl-s wont do 14.4 stock, but w/ headres it will

It comes down to the launch...and don't believe everything the magazines tell you...they are a helpful benchmark..not the bible.

 

The stock ones I've seen also tend to run low 15s.

As far as the Mags go, R/T had the TL-S @ 14.7 seconds in the 1/4 ET.

There is NO way a stock TL-S .. even after broken in after 30,000 miles .. will run a 14.4 .... The best I've seen is 14.7 in very cold weather...

I agree... in 40 degree temps...and headers... TL-S will do the 14.4 ... but not consistently.. that's the problem w/ these cars, they ain't consistent.
