My buddy had on 06 S4 and that thing is a blast to drive. But these days, I like the more refined feel when driving. I think I am over the whole "speed" thing, plus no good cars are really slow anymore, I'd take the Lex!

The question I have is about your motivation. Do you want to drive something or ride in it. Do you want a visceral experience or endless luxury. In the end, these cars are so diametrically opposed that I think it's either or.

Frankly, the G35S isn't in the same class. It's not as nice as the GS nor as fun as the S4.

You can't go wrong with either the GS or S4 in my opinion. I think you'd love both for entirely different reasons.

These 7 series have crazy depreciation, a 131K BMW 760LI sells for around 70K after 2 years and around 30K mileage, that means a 61K depreciation in 2 years.

There was a 2004(or 5) CL600 @ carmax for 29,500 My dad was looking at the SL65 AMG and found a private owner willing to sell it for $83k with less than 20k miles. Premium package, 50th aniversary package...the works. Costed that fool $196,000 two years ago...Its a shame that Mercedes don't hold their value for shit

Although this may seem obvious, pick the GS if you want more of a touring car, or the S4 if you want a sporty car. Even though that's obvious, I'd think that alone would make your decision a lot easier.

Exactly, its like being torn between a new Corvette or a new Escalade, pick the one that does what you want it to do. This is not an "apples to apples" comparison.

That's what's killing me. I loved the performance of my old G35 but I love the interior anemeties of the TL Type-S (but not the performance and rattles).

I think the TL would be perfect if it was RWD.

But in other news, I went to the Lexus dealership today and the Lex I was looking at on cars.com has been sold already.

He tried to sell me a 2004 GS430 with 40K miles on it for 27K. Yeah RIGHT.

Damn. this truly is an apples to oranges comparision. Personally I love the Audi S4, but would hate all the maintenance on it. I'd get the GS out of the two, but after the TL I'm done with sedans I think.

you can get a Cert. Pre-owned Benz E55 for your budget. about a 2003-2004.
with about 40-50k on her.
for those E55s being 2 tons THEY WILL MOVE.
