so i was out with a bunch of people lastnight and a guy i know just bought a 6-speed 350Z. and he was looking for someone to race and i told him i would, but i need he would win cause im only stock with an icebox. he asked what i would run and i said somewhere prob around mid 14's. he's like "aww it wouldnt be much of a race, i run a 13.4 stock"

im like, no way in hell do you run that stock. i mean i know their RWD with more HP then us, but a 13.4.....thats WS6 land. hes like, "i know, ive smoked a ton of z28's, WS6's, and SS's." i was still in denial, and he told me he can show me the slip to prove it.

he than began to tell me someone on one of the 350z sites ran a 13.1 stock.

so my question is, are these stock 6-speeds, capable of running low 13's stock. i always thought they were low 14 to high 13 cars. i just stopped the conversation from going any further cause i didnt wanna make myself look like an ass for not knowing too much about the car.

there is no way in hell that stock infinity can beat a freaking ram air trans am. he was blowing smoke up your ass...you should've raced him and he probably would've won by a couple lengths but that's it.

Yeah its Few have got mid 13s stock but most are high 13s to low 14s stock.

What he said. I own a Z and know what it is and isn't capable of. Your friend is full of . It's definitely NOT a low 13's car stock. A few have run 13.6-8 range stock, but most are in the 13.9-14.3 range.

The Z's on the message board he's referring to running 13.1 or the like are FI or have bolt-on's definitely not anywhere near stock.

 

i just hate when people lie to make their car seem faster then it really is.

Yeah on this board alone, TypeSKiller in his 6mt Z, ran a 13.6 bone stock. He did kinda acknowledge that that's getting close to what one can run at a stock level.

 

Well you dont know the rule? When someone wants to race you... you take yourreal times and subtract a sec. Thats the time you tell people.


Sorta like how my A4 runs low 14s.

 

 

with a perfect launch and conditions they can do 13.6, and i say only 2 0r 3 out of every 100 z drivers can do that, average they usually run very high 13's or very low 14's

 

haha no way z's are that fast stock.

 

I have one as well and its no way possible stock to hit low 13's in the 350.
