G35 is a luxury coupe. I'd imagine the g35 would be a smoother ride, less steering response/handling compared to the 350z which would be better suited on a race track. Im sure with a little tweaking of the suspension the g35 could handle like the Z.

Both cars are sexy, the designs are ahead of their time. My car looks like a shoebox comparing them side by side

With that said, I would probably go with the G35 as a daily driver just because nothing can compare to my evo as far as handling and performance so I would probably be dissapointed...

Something about owning an infiniti compared to a nissan sounds appealing to me Damn marketing scheme is working!

The Z does have a tighter suspension (the G35 has more body roll) and the Z is lighter than the G, so it will handle better, but I was suprised how well the G handled for a GT coupe. I'm sure you could tweak the G35 suspension to feel more like the Z's, but it would be hard to get over the 200-300lb weight penalty. If someone was looking to track their car, I'd recommend the Z over the G. Around town, either suspension is fine, but the Z has much less interior space which may be harder for a daily commuter.

In regards to the Evo, it is an outstanding car, but I did want to comment on your quote that nothing can compare to the handling and performance. Stock for stock, the Evo and Z are very close except for a race from a dead stop. Also, my friend had gone through 3 clutches on his Evo, so he gave up on races from a dig.

I had consistently beat my friend's Evo in races from a roll with my Z and we were very close at AutoX - he was much stronger on the tighter tracks, but I was stronger on the tracks that had more straight aways.

He eventually modded his Evo which he then blew away my Z, but stock for stock, both are close. Look at the C&D comparison where the Z beat the Evo MR around the track.

Here is a link to the article:

http://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...82&postcount=65

best lap time (min:secs), peak speed (mph), max lateral g

1) 350Z Track - 3:12.5, 124.3, 0.9
2) Evo MR - 3:13.5, 124, 0.94

I don't mean in any way to talk badly about the Evo, as it is an amazing car for the money and very easy and cheap to mod, but the Z does hold its own on a track.
