3.1 monte carlo

3.1 monte carlo

was hoping someone could help me on the torque spes for the lower intake on a 3.1 are,my book says 115 inch pounds,dont know if there is a difference for the new felpro gaskets.also the rocker arm nuts.can i just torque them down after i put the gaskets in.there suppose to be 124 inch pounds.

Torque specs for the Chev. 3.1 intake manifolds are as follows:
Lower Intake Manifold
Center bolts
Step 1 - 62 in-lbs
Step 2 - 115 in-lbs
Corner bolts
Step 1 - 115 in-lbs
Step 2 - 18 Ft-lbs
Upper Intake Manifold
Bolts & Studs - 18 Ft-lbs
Specs are taken from Hayes Repair Manual: Chevrolet: Lumina, Monte Carlo, & Impala

one more question,when i remove the rocker arm nuts to replace the intake gaskets,what are the torque specs for the nuts when i put them back on.

rocker arm nuts

does it say what to torque the rocker arms back to once i remove them,i have to take the pushrods out to get the gaskets behind them,

why are you removing the rocker arm nuts for the intake????

Even though I will probably never use it again, I found that this tool saved alot of time when dealing with the push rods when I did the LIM repair on my mothers 3.4V6.
