2 stroke engines make some serious power. The power band on them sucks though. At least with motorcycles, theres practically no power down lown and then it feels like someone kicked you in the chest. Its like turbo lag on crack.

And x2 with this being in the wrong place. Im not sure where I would have put it though.

Man listen to that cam. Wait. You say there ain't no cam? Then how.....

Sounds great and I also love the smell of gas and oil mix being burned in a 2-stroke outboard engine.

Yeah I have seen that motor. It's a ZO6 motor on the water. Only problem is weight. It is super heavy and the power to weight ratio sucks. It's made for big offshore heavy rigs not a super light race boat. I'll keep the 2 stokes!! If I had a choice I would take an MTT Turbine Outboard. Very light and super power!!

Its the CTS-V motor.

Ive already seen 3 of these on the back of a 42 fountain (locally) there wasnt a thing in the water that was even close to it

1000lbs each!

42 ft fountain is perfect for this motor. It won't be that fast though. Probably an offshore fishing rig right? They aren't built for speed they are built for heavy loads.

No this was a powerboat. It was being chased by about 10 other scarrabs and bajas and fountains during the poker run this summer (a big race from bar to bar basically) They werent catching him, and one i know is a 110mph boat.

Which Poker Run? I do them all the time. 42ft Lightning or Poker Run series is Inboard only and it takes over 1500hp to push this boat over 110mph. If Baja's and Scarabs were behind it then he was probably only doing 70mph! They are pigs!!!

Oh and yes that IS what she said!!!!

"We started seeing the big center console offshore and go-fast boats with triples and quad outboards," says Brian Davis, vice president of Seven Marine. "We also saw the lunatic fringe with five outboards strapped to the back and realized the market is clearly asking for more power. With a pair of our 557s, you'll be decreasing the drag, decreasing overall weight and increasing power over triples. The efficiency will be better too. Our projections show a fuel rate of 11.6 gallons per hour per engine with a boat cruising at 3,200 to 3,400 rpm at 45 miles per hour.We also anticipate a top speed into the mid-70s with a 37-foot boat. This proven block and unique engineering will be able to deliver all that power to the water."

Let me get this straight.

You are saying that you have seen a 42 ft Fountain "Inboard Only Boat with a transom that won't fit outboards" with 2 of these motors "modified" that aren't even in production yet?
Sorry dude. They aren't scheduled for production till the 4th quarter of this year. That would be October!!!!

Actually a few of them are out there because it was seen. They are made locally (about 35 min drive from here) All i can say is that it had them, maybe it was them . Im assuming it was a fountain as the hull, it didnt look like a scarab and more like the fountain and all white with the bow that points downward. Maybe it was a modified fishing?? They do come in outboard.

It's amazing how much they sound like a cammed V8.

My old boss is converting an old supercharged Allison V12 into a 2-stroke. Already has the barrels and VERY unique pistons made. This will be a tractor pull motor.
