I just recently got a ticket, first one in 5 years and second in 11. I got a lawyer for $55 and they dropped all 4 points and made it a $200 parking citation

What peeves me off is I know it was only because of MD weekend & this cop had nothing better to do. Why else would he stake out a 35mph zone on a rd that's hardly used? The last 2 nights at the same time frame on the same rd he was no where to be found. As I said I travel the same rd almost daily at the same times.

that sucks man... where i got my ticket in chino hills its a mile away from my house and leads to the main roads to go anywhere. Been driving through that for five years I've seen a cop there maybe once before. This was 7:30am on a friday and i guess he just wanted to catch people going late to work. Also its a slight downhill. I which increased my speed by like 5mph and got me 15 over waiting at the bottom taking radar.

Funny thing is, when my house in riverside got robbed, i was talking to the cops and they even said they dont really like giving out speeding tickets unless the person is blatantly speeding or if the conditions make it dangerous, traffic, weather, etc. Too bad the cop that got me doesn't care, told him i'm giong to vegas too maybe thought he might have some sympathy for me and knock down my speed to save me a few bucks.

I got my first ticket in nearly 9 years last month...but I well deserved it...there's a nice curvy road by my house...usually pretty deserted, but I always do a cop check going one way first before pushing it on the way back. Hope you get off...

...so to speak...

Motorcyclist clocked going 193 mph on NY highway

193MPH in the rain, now that's over the limit

In the dry I could possibly rationalize, but the in the rain

And 14 traffic citations

http://news.yahoo.com/motorcyclist-c...113500876.html

ROSENDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 28-year-old man in upstate New York has been charged with driving his motorcycle at nearly 200 mph on a highway in the rain.
State police say a trooper clocked Anthony Anderson of Poughkeepsie driving at 193 mph around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 87 just south of Albany — the same stretch of road where another motorcyclist was spotted doing 166 mph earlier this month.
The trooper was able to get a description of the high-performance bike and alerted nearby patrols.
Troopers eventually stopped Anderson in the town of Rosendale. He told them he was headed to a hospital to visit a patient.
Anderson was issued 14 traffic tickets, including one for speeding.
It couldn't be immediately determined if he had a lawyer.

I've had worse tickets than his reduced to less than he did...it's easy, just go to court. You don't even need a lawyer. That's just how it is here . Obviously, it's something that's going to vary by your location (and how they handle traffic offenses). Even within NC, you will get different results in different counties, but you can always get big reductions in charges.

My girlfriend and I know a local cop. I asked him what lawyer he would recommend and he gave me a name. I contacted the lawyer, told him I was a full time student and hadn't had a speeding ticket in 6 years. He worked his magic

No speeding tickets in 15 years... and I'm hitting 100mph plus more than ever

Do you guys even look down the road if there is a cop hiding? Drove to NYC last weekend, and there were no less than 10 cops staking out spots on the way up -- most I have EVER seen in a trip in my life by a factor of 4. Ever single time my spider sense tingled and I slammed on the break to sail by at 65. Have never used a radar detector.

If you are speeding and failed to see the police officer, chances are you'd fail to see the other motorist, dog, kid chasing after a ball. Etc. The issue here is that when granny is pulling onto the 35 mph street, she's not expecting someone to be driving at 64 mph.

If you want to put your Chrysler into the wall at the track it's your prerogative. Putting Granny's life in danger cause "these cars like to go fast" is bullshit and you know it.

That's why I only speed on the highway, ... irregardless of all the other factors that suck (children playing etc.) speeding on non-highway roads just generally sucks -- burning all that gas to get up to speed, just so you can slam on the breaks for someone to pull in their driveway or make a turn at 0 mph (as so many insist on doing aghhhh) 30 seconds later. Not pleasant.

On the highway I try to avoid passing other cars going more than 15-20mph faster than them. However if I can tell from their evasive maneuvers that they are thoroughly engaged, I don't worry about that rule.

Has all worked out quite well so far.

You could plead not guilty, if you wanted to. Just before 9:00am a person comes out and tells everyone waiting outside the courtroom to form two lines - one to get a deal, one to see the judge. PJC requests and not guilty have to see the judge. If you choose a deal, a bunch of ADA's come out and start moving through the line offering reduced charges. If you take them, you go straight to the cashier and pay. If you don't like them, you can go into the courtroom to see the judge. Only way to get a not guilty verdict is to have proof you didn't do it (slim) or hope the cop doesn't show (even slimmer). Last time for me: 76 in a 55...no lawyer, went for deal...asked ADA for 9 over (no insurance penalty)...she gave me 5 over...paid $10 fine and $120 court costs.

Yep. I found it was pretty easy to get a ticket reduced especially if there aren't any priors.

My only speeding ticket was 28 over when I was in my mid 20's; I retained a lawyer just to be sure the offense could be reduced; after all it was my first speeding ticket and I was very nervous and unsure what to do.

I didn't mind the fine, I was more worried about high insurance rates for the next 3 to 5 years. Ticket was reduced to 14 over; a 2 point offense that was not reported. I still paid the original fine which was ok with me I was only worried about the points.

All in all the courts really only care collecting the money from fines; so unless you are a habitual offender, it should be relatively easy to get a ticket reduced with or without a lawyer. If you are not comfortable going at it alone, only then its best to pay a lawyer to be safe.

Doesn't work that way in FL. This was a pre trail. No evidence or anything. You can plead no contest & be at the mercy of the judge. If I was to continue to plead not guilty, then I would have a real trial date & then the cop would need to show.

It's why I always go slow in town, plus how the hell am I supposed to check out the hot ass if I'm going fast. I like to cruise downtown in 2nd gear and hear the echo of my exhaust against the buildings all the while breaking my neck when I see hot women in scantaly clad outfits.

The pain of speeding tickets. Sooner or later, driving a 4G SH-AWD TL you will get one. I could not go a year. Got a ticket this morning 69 in a 55. It was dropped to 64 in a 55. No points since I haven't had a speeding ticket in 11 years.

All because of an inconsiderate SUV driver who cut me off pulling out of a their driveway then slowed down below the speed limit. Angry, I went around them. Not a good move. Wallet is now too lite. I really needed the $$$.

I can dig that, I passed some putz in truck with debris falling out, accelerated past him then popped 10-15 seconds later. Sucks I know.

I've never received any speeding tickets *knocks on wood* but recently received my first parking ticket. $100 for parking in a "Tour Bus Only" spot at 11PM to go to a night club . What confuses me is that there were other cars parked behind/in front of me, and there were meters, but I was the only car ticketed? I have to write a written appeal, but have no idea how to start it. Lol

This is how I got most of my past speeding tickets. Trying to get around a slow inconsiderate idiot. Knock on wood I haven't gotten a speed ticket the past 3-4 years.
