274HP AWD Mazdaspeed 6 (56K use caution).;)

I think it's a sweet looking car. So far they say it will have 274HP and 280ft-lbs of torque 2.3L turbo 4cyl, active torque spilt AWD system, LSD, and 6MT.

Yea, I think this will be directly aimed at the Subie Legacy GT since they're both turbo AWD midsize cars.

Mazdas are very reliable. Personally I own a Mazda over a Honda. Just because I would probably get a auto eventually and wouldn't want a unreliable Honda tranny blowing up on me.

Mazdas have average reliability stateside. Not great, not bad.

All this Consumer Reports talk out of the way, the M6 MPS may be a competitor to the Leg GT but it looks WAY better. Smart money says it will probably handle better as well; one thing Mazda does well is make good handling cars.

My first mod would be a set of EL gauges though, because I cant stand red/black gauges. Reminds me of Pontiacs too much. $.02

Nah, competition is good. Maybe Acura will respond and make the TL more powerful in the near future.

OMG!!! That front end looks agressive and I like the interior better than the regular 6. Not sure about the rear end though... I can't wait till it comes out!!

Color me stupid, but whats the thing on top of the engine? Looks like an Intercooler but the hood has no scoop or vents on top.

Yea, it's a top mount intercooler like the WRX and Legacy GT. The hood is raised in the center so it looks like a cowl induction that forces air under the hood through an air duct that directs the air over the intercooler. Personally I prefer an FMIC, I’m sure someone will make an aftermarket FMIC for it like they do for the WRX’s.

That is simply awesome. If its under 30k, it is the sedan to have. Way to go Mazda!!! That is incredible inside and out and the hardware to go with it!

That is one sweet looking car! I like the current 6, but that Mazdaspeed version is much more agressive.

If Mazda puts those in showrooms, Mazda will have 'taken the gloves off' for this slugfest.

Hopefully they can sell enough MSP6's to make them think about bringing back the RX-7 with more power, cause the RX-8 is weaksauce.

Have they leaked any performance figures (i.e. 1/4 mile time)? I didn't see any on their web site.

Better be under 30k. That rod holding up the hood doesn't scream upscale to me.

And i'm still very turned off by the fact that the Infiniti G35 has prop rod but, my 02 Maxima has hood lifts. Go figure.

G35 used prop rod because the hood is aluminum, and would buckle/bend under spring tension, or so I`ve been told.

I'm doubt for the new turbocharged engine by mazda, wondering if it's reliable vs. subaru

mazda is not known for their reliability.

anyways it won't be as fast as the Legacy GT, but probably in teh low 7s i guess

What makes you think the more powerful and lighter MSP6 will be slower then the Legacy GT? Low 7s lol, the manual 6cyl Mazda 6 currently gets 0-60 in 6.8s. And as far as Mazda's reliability refer to post #10.

im a current 6 owner which i HATE waiting for my time to move up to a TL in a few months i checked out the LEGACY GT which is 100:100 AWD and the Speed 6 isnt i believe its 100:00 water cooled transfer case, so its only part time AWD but i could be wrong but i am pretty sure.

I think the rest of the carmakers better take notice of this. We better start seeing muscled up versions of their family sedans.

That car looks like a monster! It'll probably put a world of hurt on a TL and G35. Great job Mazda...but what happens to the RX8?
