If you live in Saudi Arabia and decide to buy a new Lamborghini Aventador, patience had best be one of your strong points. The current wait for delivery of the carbon-composite supercar is 18 months, which means you won’t be rolling in Riyadh in your raging bull until May of 2013.
Unless, of course, money really isn’t a concern. Dhiaa Al-Essa, like most 22-year-old males, loves cars. Unlike most 22-year-olds, Al-Essa isn’t scrambling to come up with a down payment for a Volkswagen Jetta GLI; instead, the recent engineering school graduate spent $71,000 for the privilege of owning the first Lamborghini Aventador in Saudi Arabia.
That’s on top of the Aventador’s sticker price of $387,000, which pegs the cost of Al-Essa’s newest Lamborghini at $458,000. We’re guessing that depreciation isn’t a big concern for the Saudi man or his family, who has a reported net worth of some $2.3 billion.
As the duPont Registry points out, Al-Essa owns a few other cars as well, including a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, a Koenigsegg Agera, a Maybach 62, two Rolls-Royces, three Mercedes-Benzes, four Ferraris, two other Lamborghinis, two Porsches and a host of other bits and pieces worth some $12 million.
We’re sure Al-Essa will enjoy his new Aventador, but whether or not it will supplant his 2010 Ferrari 599 GTO as his favorite remains to be seen.

At first I was like..... who? A moment later I was like.... the kid with the M3? Who went to USC and put all that in his signature and said he didn't like to brag?
@ people with an overly inflated sense of self-worth. I've always said this.... nobody is jealous of you when there's some teenaged son of an oil sheikh who drifts his Carrera GT and LP-640 and ultimately crashes them without a single fuck given.
oh man.... that thread is hilarious!

Enjoy it while you can Mr. al-Essa, Saudi Arabia is running out of oil and we keep discovering more and more over here without really trying.

My favorite part is when Hondaonworks he said that he has class as early as 8.
Ahem, anywho...the things I could do with 71k... Definitely would NOT spend it on "being first" that's for sure!

a premium for a 400k car...not very unusual here. if i were in his shoes, i wouldnt really hesitate to do the same. not too mention, he could be making that 71k back in dividends from all of the promo events fueled by the press of this story. i mean, we are 7,000 miles away and talking about it.

Must be nice to be that loaded.
And as I've said, money does buy happiness. If I had that much, I wouldn't want to wait either. I mean, what's $71K...?

I actually have a friend from the middle east who's a prince that has money like that..he's been through so many cars already...the last time I saw him, he was driving around his daily MB SLS AMG...while his 1000+hp car was being built...those are they cars he keeps here...he has other cars back in his country too...i believe he also working on his 1000+hp GTR R35 back at home too...and that's just one of his many projects...its cool to meet ppl like that when they're down-to-earth...it's the one's who are so cocky about it that most of us are annoyed by....i'm glad my friend is still humble..not many ppl left like that...
