2018 Camry does what we want Acura to do

And the accountants made the $150-200K NSX?
I won't say that it is because of the bean counters.... their cars are always packed, value-wise. At the risk of being sexist, I'd say it is a femal-ization of the styling.
But the 2009-2014 TL and TSX designers were also clearly blind! That beak also killed them.

Honda has 8DCT, the design from initial could be poor. 1. size not fit on v6 model 2. could not handle high torque v6. what the retarded designer of this 8DCT! But I thought they at least put this 8DCT on 10gen accord or may current gen civic, but civic already proved with cvt, looks like 10 gen accord will go cvt also. so the investment for this 8DCT only is for 4 banger TLX and ilx? how many units they can sell yearly on 4 banger TLX and ilx? when will they get the money back for the investment of 8dct development?
honda has 10 speed on the way. I am thinking a company even not able to build decent 6 speed auto, so what will be their 10 speed looking like?

I don't want to sound like one of those guys who says "it is still a Kia or Hyundai"
But it is still a Camry I do not mean that in a bad way but rather Sporty/aggressive/power doesn't mean much to Camry since most of its target audience just don't care. Price/reliability/comfort is where it is at.

The TLX on the other hand is solid improvement. It is at least handsome. I get regular compliments about my white on parchemin TLX V6.
The body looks great.

You guys do realize that the transmission does not produce any power, don't you?
You don't "need" seven, or eight, or nine speed transmissions.
You really don't "need" many speeds at all if you have an engine with a decent torque output over a broad rpm range.
E.g. my 2010 TL with its "obsolete" 5AT is perfectly fine.
The reason they are going to all these many speed transmissions is for better - slightly better - fuel economy with several overdrive speeds included, and because of a copy cat mentality among manufacturers and marketers.

7 is the key number. Think about it: 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man. That's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby.

A 7 speed is the best. No one needs anything more than 7. Everybody knows this.

The 09 -14 TL was an abomination. Bad proportions from incompetent designers; no surprised that nobody bought them .

4G never been ugly. it just back that time, it was the design far ahead. even now, the rear end looking of 4G is so good.

The 5G is definitely looking better. 4G lovers have no taste.

But to suggest that nobody bought the 4G TL is far from the truth. If you factor in 2G TSX sales with 4G TL sales (because that's what the TLX is replacing), the TLX's sales numbers are lower.
Looking at full 1st year sales for each:
Look at the huge year over year drop in sales for the TLX . . . . 47,080 in 2015 down to 37,156 in 2016 is a drop of 9,924 units or 21.08%.
Meanwhile, sales of the 4G TL alone went from 33,620 in 2009 to 34,049 in 2010. That's a sales increase of 429 units or +1.28%
The TLX didn't really do that great (sales-wise) vs the 4G TL in their 2nd full years . . . . 37, 156 vs 34,049 is 9.13% difference.
My guess is the TLX will do even worse in 2017.

^ what does that have to do with the previous topic. 4G vs TLX?
You sure you are not SSFTSX? cuz you sure think like him.
if you only trust what you eyes see, then you are being fooled quite often...

Not, the TLX looks just fine. I don't need any validation from biased bashers.

No one said you need validations from biased bashers, you already bought what you wanted to buy.
You are the one who is trying to seek validations that your TLX is Superior.
Let's just say based on the sales # alone, TLX is not superior.

Problem with TL after the 2nd gen is the size. Look how long my 99 TL versus the newest Accord. My car is picture closer to the camera. The Accord is next to it. This is why my next car won't be a Acura. I need the room.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this statement is so ignorant it's ridiculous. So, someone doesn't agree with you and they have no taste??

side profile is muscular. I think the proportion is right enough. When I looked at her, I always smile.
Absolutely, 4G exterior is not boring at all. I think it will take long time for me to get tired of it.
