...and yea, who is gonna buy the 3.6 when the V can be had for just a tad more?
That's a bit of a pricing head scratcher.

I'm confused. A 4 cylinder with more power (I want torque over HP) and faster, but with worse mileage priced less than the V6?
Someone who doesn't want forced induction? And that's the TT V6 "Vsport", not the SC V8 "V".

I think CTS VSport deserves it. But with such performance they really should have done a better job on those fake exhaust tips.

I must be the only one that thinks this car's styling is a step back from the first generation. This design language reminds me the the Cadillac of old. I'm disappointed that it's bigger too. I don't care if it's lighter. I hope the V changes my mind. That's not the launch I'm waiting for though. I can't wait to see the ATS V. I think the ATS wears the new design language a lot better than the CTS.

The problem with the last gen cts is that's its size put it in between competitive model. Having the ats allowed the cts to grow to be a real 5 competitor.
That said. I have to see it in person as I too am a fan of the last gen size/styling.

Why would you be disappointed that it is bigger? As Sarlacc pointed out, that last gen was a tweener, larger than a 3 series/C-class but smaller than a 5 series/E-class. This new generation puts it squarely in the same class as the 5 series/E-class, which only makes sense having the ATS in the lineup.

Do you think it's a step back from the first generation or the second(last) generation? Personally, I don't think the first generation has aged well. Also, I can't understand how anyone would think the new design is reminiscent of older Cadillacs.

I generally dislike that every automobile manufacture is making their cars larger and larger with every refresh. That's always a disappointment for me, regardless of the manufacturer. Look at the size of a Honda Civic these days. I'm of the camp that a midsized car on the smaller side (ala Infiniti G et. al.) is the perfect size for a sporty sedan. These car classes are getting too close together IMO.
It might just be me, but I swear when the 2nd gen CTS came out it was competing against the 3 Series. I thought that was a good place for it. Why does it now have to compete with the 5 Series? Cadillac could have put the STS on a diet to compete with the 5 Series.
I do look forward to the CTS-V coupe, however. Hopefully it'll change my mind about this new design.

.
.
The CTS wasn't meant to compete with the 3...even though its size put it between a 3 and a 5...GM always said the benchmark they were going after was the 5 series.
The STS/XTS are FWD luxo cruisers...more of an es300 competitor.

They need to put a BETTER LOOKING and CHEAPER MSRP and MORE POWERFUL Sedan.
getting WAYYYYYY better MPGs is irrelevant in that segment.

This is where the problem of size I mentioned comes in.
