2012 TSX SE vs 2012 C250 Sport

Tsx all day. If you want prestige and better quality parts, and are willing to pay a premium, look at the a4, def not the mb. The a4 fwd should lease to ab the same as the 250, if not better. Personally, I would get an a5 if the rear doors weren't needed. But in this case, I say a4 four banger fwd.

Assuming hes doing a 36 month lease, then I think its worth $3600 more to get the C230 over the TSX with similar options.
Really like the new layout in the benz interior. Materials feel much better than the TSX. IMO
Also the C250 has more torque for daily driving yet getting the same gas mileage as the slower tsx.
With that said, he should look at the new 328i which is better than both.![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

As someone who's last 3 primary car purchases have been German (A4, A6, E350) add another for the MB. IMO, much nicer car overall and much better ownership experience. Plus, the entry levels to the Germans (A4, C, 328, etc) have come a loooooong way on reliability, especially Audi and MB. And since it's a lease, not really even too much of an issue. The TSX is so vanilla to me I get diabetes just from staring at it too long. The redesigned C is a great ride.
But of course that's just one opinion. Your friend needs to drive both, then make a decision.

A friend is looking at leasing a new car within the next week or so. He has narrowed it down to two. The first is the 2012 Acura TSX Special Edition and the other is the 2012 Mercedes C250. If you were in his position what would you choose?
The TSX is priced around $31,000 and the Benz is around $38,500. He got some quotes on leases and the monthly payment on the Benz are about $100 higher a month. He is back and forht on weather to spend the extra cash for a Benz or save some with the TSX. Both cars have almost the same features and options.

I am curious what other vehicles he cross shopped if he narrowed it down to these two vehicles. IMHO if hes looking at vehicles in the low 30k price range, i would take a VW CC (R-Line) all day long over a TSX and I see in the USA also that they have free maintence and awesome lease deals on all the 2012 models now.

OP, does your friend enjoy driving fast?

It definitely doesn't have the power, imo.

The Benz can probably be described as 'Nice'.
On the flipside, the TSX can probably be described as 'nice enough'.
Seeing that this is a lease (and admittedly not knowing much else), I'd probably take the Benz.

The new C's have nice interior, that's for sure. Soft leather everywhere. Close friend just bought one and I made fun of him because I hated the car, but the inside was really nice. The car was pretty boring to drive though.

Entry Level Benz vs. Entry Level Acura.
if your friend doesn't mind spending the $100 a month, then the C250.
It still has the stability and solid feel of an European car even though it is only an entry level car.
If your friend does not care about badge, he should get the Optima SX. Then again he is going to say "ohh it is a KIA" then maybe he should get the C250.

Personally, I'd get the TSX. While I prefer the 1G TSX to the 2G TSX, the 2G TSX is a mighty fine car for its price and the Benz, to me, isn't worth the premium.
The situation changes, though, when we're talking about a 328i, particularly a '12. That car definitely piques my curiosity and is on my list the next time I shop (though I wouldn't lease and I'd probably hunt for a CPO).
Also, I've heard fairly good things about the Volvo S60- how are those leasing these days? That might be a good option, especially given that the purchase prices are closer to the TSX (in T5 guise, anyway) than the C250.

i have a 2010 TSX, mom has 2010 C300. st patty's day i drove my friends 2012 C300 in NYC traffic and on the highway. i can honestly say i prefer my TSX. the C300 may have had a bit more torque, and better grip, it wasn't as fun as the TSX. and god damn does that thing sound like a bitch compared to VTEC. it left me wanting more power, despite the fact that it has more than my TSX. i just feel satisfied when i punch the gas on the TSX, and that extra money could go into mods to make the TSX faster if you really want. i prefer look of TSX> c300.
overall TSX>C300/C250
overall TSX>C300/C250

Not sure if they changed this on the new models, but that's how it was with the B7.

I'd pick a TSX.
Like you said, options and features are very similar. It's hard to justify the $100/mth difference unless RWD and the Mercedes badge mean that much. RWD is a great advantage, but not worth $100 for a DD in my opinion.
Those are the biggest differences between the two, IMO. And styling. Ask your friend if he thinks it's worth it, and make the decision from there.
