2012 LA Auto Show
I felt like it was kind of boring this year...and I wasn't going to shoot photos of EVERYTHING...so mainly I have pictures of some of the concepts and new debuts.
Honda EV-STER....cute
Jeff Dunham's Project Ultraviolet Dodge Challenger
There is a lot to this custom build that he did in cooperation with SRT. Under that hood is a new crate 426 HEMI...full custom body work, etc. I have a friend who was involved with this.
To me, it is THE BEST wide body challenger I've seen...so subtle. I love it, and want to some of the same stuff done to my car.
10th Anniversary Jeep Rubicon.
Jeep Sand Trooper.
Dodge Charger RT Daytona.
The new SRT Viper...what can I say...this is the king right here.
Fiat 500L
Kia Optima Batman (there was a Flash and Cyborg as well, not as cool in concept)
Ford Aston...errr Fusion 3carbon concept. The new Fusion is a REALLY nice car...very nice interior. Back seats are a little weird and kind of have a stadium seat effect.
Ford Focus ST
Ford Transit Connect...not as small as a Mazda5...not a big as a standard minivan. Will be interesting to see how this does...more industrial in design than family friendly
Lincoln MKZ. In person this thing look fantastic
Nissan Hybrid Concept. It would be nice if this was the next Rouge design.
All new Porsche Cayman
Toyota NS4 Concept. This thing was REALLY nice.
New Rav4. looks better than any other Rav4.
Mini Paceman
New Subaru Forrester
New Chevy Impala
Chevy Tru 140S. looked real nice
Chevy Code 130R. another head turner. very nice.
Mercedes EnerG Concept...I like it a lot.
SLS AMG Black. The SLS Gullwing is sex. period.
Infiniti Concept...meh
Lexus LF-LC. In my opinion this was the shining star of the show. Much like the LFA was 2 years ago...this car just embodies everything, and its dead fucking sexy to boot. I love this thing.
Lexus LF-CC. Also very nice
Acura NSX Concept. Photos of this car never did anything for me. I still think the original NSX is timeless and not sure this will reach that height. That said...seeing this car in person, its really quite stunning. I was very impressed.
Acura RLX. My thoughts are in the RLX thread...to sum it up. Boring. And the interior design is WTF.
Jaguar XF-RS
Jaguar F-Type. Really nice. All the RS models of Jag were REALLY nice. (XF, XJ, F type)
Honda EV-STER....cute
Jeff Dunham's Project Ultraviolet Dodge Challenger

Excellent photos as always David
I love the color combo on the Wrangler. The Viper is so fawking aggressive looking, I love it. And I agree about the LF-LC; absolutely stunning. Oh yeah, and dat F-Type

The NSX does look stunning in person.
And I hope the Fiat 500L is a joke.

the Impala is the biggest WTF for me. Proportionally it looks bigger than a RR Phantom. Probably just the perspective though

It's being withheld from the public & only being shown to select media groups.

I believe it's finished in Blu Hera with the new Sabbia Nefertem leather.

Porsche did a great job on the Cayman and I'd like to see the specs both the EV-STER and NS4. As for the Infiniti EV, I like it.....but I also expect Infiniti to saddle it with a fairly high price tag when it hits production.

First of all, those are awesome photo's you took and thanks for doing so.
What was your opinion of the Impala and its interior?? (Not sure if you had any Photo's of the interior)
As others have mentioned, I actually like the styling of the Impala better than the RLX and was curious if they have any other performance packages that are to compete with the Taurus SHO or is the LTZ it ??
And on another side note, has yourself or anyone else that went to the show questioned anyone in the Buick section about the rumours of the Grand National or GNX returning
Thanks, Again

just got back from the show, i'll throw in some of my pics too. Obviously they arent as good as sarlacc, partly cause its a cell phone and partly cause other than point and shoot i'm not good with cameras haha.
Start with the non-impressive RLX, at least from the outside. They had the doors locked so couldnt go in, but the interior seemed so so. I liked the TL's interior they had on display (no pic) but the leather had a very nice color too it. Kinda orange/brown, not really sure.
So a 50k car, adn look at those rims! That looks like something you get on an accord, or civic... so cheap
The NSX is such a nice looking car IMO.
I really hope it doesnt change too much from concept.
I've never been a fan of the 6, but the 6 gran coupe and this M6 below looks really nice.
The sls amg is such a sexy car...
So this E-class had this most ingenious play on the cargo net i've ever seen!! So freakin awesome i kept playing with it.
So i'll describe what it does. That tray thing you see with the basket pretty much down is made of something, i dont really know what. But its seems durable kinda like what the insides of luggage bags are lined with i dunno could be making it up. Anyway. So what happens is this basket as you see is pushed most of the way down, what you do, is stick your hand inside and just push it to the floor of the trunk and you have a place to put groceries, or anything you dont want moving around in the trunk. Then the silver button above the random dudes right hands pulls the whole basket up. and now its a tray that can be pushed into the top of the trunk. Kinda hard to explain, but i'll see if i find a video of it.
Now jag time
Infinit brought out a redbull F1 car, I zoomed in on the suspension links so its pretty blurry, but i never noticed this before. Its made of carbon fiber. Pretty intense.

Other random notes, I wasnt a fan of the LF-LC concept from lexus. The LFA was much better IMO, they had the nurburgring edition there. Thats a lot more drool worthy than the LF-LC concept that sarlacc showed a pic of.
Umm i like the new accords interior, i think its a better looking car inside and out, than the 8th gen.
The focus st, the recaro seats are one of the most comfortable seats i've ever sat it. They hug you so nicely!! The fusion is definitely a looker, should get lots of sales on those looks alone i think.
I'm so so on the new range rover. In some ways it looks better in others it doesnt.
BMW didnt bring the M3 and audi didnt bring the R8, sad days :/
New cayman looks good, but looks pretty much the same to me, except the rear which looks like the boxter now(which i really like). Porsche had this room with a buffet and everything set up, i think its only for owners of the vehicle though it was fancy though!
Aston had the new vanquish too, that looked really nice!

You rock, Sarlacc. Thank you for your pics, David.
NSX is AWESOME in person, I will never forget what it looked like at the Detroit show this year.
The Charger R/T Daytona was very nice in blue as well. I wish I could have a Rubicon as a winter vehicle.....badass looking and practical.

speeddemon, I'm surprised the RLX was a locked...it was wide open for everyone yesterday.
When I first saw it it threw me off a bit, but overall I like it. Its a nice looking full size FWD sedan. It has that elongated back look to it...sort of CLS or A7-ish but not really as aggressively raked.
I'd guess there will eventually be an SS model, but I didn't talk to anyone. The LTZ did a have a more agressive look/chin spoiler compared to the others.

Can't wait for the F-Type to come out....I'd love to have one.
You know, the Batman Kia is well done.

Nice pics. I wouldn't mind if the NSX came to the dealers like that. Sadly, I have a feeling they're going to tone down the styling before it hits.
Any Ferrari or Lamborghinis? I went a couple of years ago and they weren't there. I was pretty disappointed. There were some in the modified section but it wasn't the same.

Nope, most exotics have pulled out of the show in the last few years. So, yeah if you want to see any you have to go down to Kentia Hall with all the aftermarket stuff.
