2008 Pontiac G8 GT
What do you think?:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pontiac-G8-GT-2008-Pontiac-G8-GT-GXP-Clone-582-HP-540-TQ-Ignition-Orange-Daily-Driver-/281285987930?forcerrptr=true&hash=item417df38e5a&item=281285987930&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
Is the owner asking for too much?
What are some things to watch out for?
I'm more knowledgeable with imports than I am with domestics.

It's modded with a supercharger, which the GT doesn't come with stock.
I'd stay away unless you are handy with a wrench, know a good LS tuner, or want a modded car.

First, I love the G8. The GXPs especially hold their value.
But I'm with Bob - a modded s/c'ed car with 80K miles is not a solid choice.
If you like the G8, then I'd go stock GT (or GXP if you can find one). You may know that the 2014 Chevy SS is basically a Chevy G8, so you may think about waiting a year or two for SS's to hit the pre-owned market.
But definitely steer clear of that particular eBay vehicle.

If it wasn't supercharged, I would be more comfortable buying a second hand N/A LSx
Only way I'd buy a second hand FI car would be:
1: Owner can provide good evidence the car was tuned at a reputable tuner.
2: Has a proper AFR under boost
3: Good compression

Nope.
I would never buy a boosted used car that was not boosted from the factory.
Also, all these "tuned" cars are so easy to fuck it up. It's like couple wrong clicks away from going :boom: no matter how bulletproof the engine is.
And hyung, I thought you wanted to get a car so you can take it to the track sometimes.. I think these cars are like 4000 lbs. I don't think you will have fun at the track. The consumables are going to cost a lot as well.
Find something else hyung!

What's your criteria?
RWD? AWD?
4 Doors? 2 doors?
Manual
How many cylinders? 4? 6? 8?

You said you just need something with large cargo room/4 door that you can take it to the track sometimes.
Hmmm...
What could it be...
STI 5 Door?

A4 Avant?

4-doors (2 car seats)
RWD or AWD
< $20K
# of cylinders I'm flexible on
OEM navi is a plus
I'm thinking about it. The owner's military like I was. I'm sure he'll let me take a drive. The only problem is that the car's 157 miles away from me.

If you're open to the idea of getting an Evo or STI, up your price range a bit - I'm with JS on this one .. never buy a second hand sought after tuner car.
Maybe try finding an unmolested privately owned 335i 6MT?

Not a popular choice and a little higher than your budget .. .. what about a preowned 4G SH-AWD 6MT?
Pros:
- Somewhat economical
- Honda reliability
- 4 doors
- Manual
- AWD
- Navi comes as standard
Cons:
- You just had a 6MT TL-S - might want to change it up?
- Subjective looks & Front beak (Ron Jon Grille / Painting factory beak w/ aero kit goes a long way.
- Bit higher on the price side.

The post MMC ones aren't too bad. How much do they run for these days?
Those won't be too bad hyung. Not sure how much aftermarket support they have, but they do drive well.

How come you don't like WRX or STi wagons? Interior?

The 2013 model ones are very cheap. It's like 4-5k under the msrp. The new one pushed down the older ones.
I think even the new 2013 WRX Wagons can be had for a little over $20k.

But the new one doesn't come in wagon form!
If you are fine with the brand new ones in sedan, it'll be an awesome choice. They have a completely new chassis for it. Heard they handle really well.
I know they sell around invoice these days. Do you want the contact for the dealer?
