2008 M3 vs 2009 CTS-V

If you had the money to buy a 2008 BMW M3 or a the new 2009 Cadillac CTS-V, which would you choose and why? I have no idea which I would take, im stumped.

CTS-V is a pure performance brute. It just beat an M5 in a R&T comparo. I think I would get that.

Damn.
That really is a hard pick. They are both beautiful cars, and they both are obviously performance gods. Just for the sake of this thread and me not having ever driven either, I would say the M3. There is just something hypnotizing about the M3's looks. I'm not sure how else to put it.

Not saying it's the better pick, though.

I chose other because it was there.

To chose a CTS-V would depend on the circumstances of the purchase/acquisition.

If I'm buying a $60k car as my only car because I make decent money but not a shitload then I'm buying the M3.

If I'm doing REALLY well and the M3/CTS-V is my second car then I would consider the CTS-V.

But since there's an "other" I'd rather have a slower S5 than either the M3 or CTS-V.

Without a doubt, the CTS-V with the Recaros

The E92 M3 is sexy.... but the CTS-V is sex on wheels, on fire and wrapped in bacon.

Amen.

As much as I truly love the new CTS-V I can't see me turning down a new M3 given the opportunity. The E92 is just too sexy.

Not a big fan of the M3... not sure about the CTS-V yet. I liked the last gen version... need to see this new one up close and personal.

So, that said, I voted other for M5 since that is the CTS-V's direct competitor....

CTS-V. Darned hard to beat the small block Chevy engine and the 'V' is a fine performance machine.

Voted other as well.

I'll take the new Pontiac G8 GXP over the M3. Add a Maggie and full pedders setup, be way under the MSRP of an M3 and beat it every which way around the track.

Meaning I forgot all about that car when replying with the M5. I'd probably go G8 as well. I actually really like that thing.

Good thing voting "Other" leaves me open to change my mind

D'oh. Reading is fundamental. I thought you wrote forget about the G8 not forgot about the G8

CTS-V. The interior is pure sex , and it has the performance to back it up.

Driving position is definitely much superior in the E9X compared to the CTS I drove... I can say honestly that it was a problem for me.

The M3 is the best sub-70K$ car in the world.

End.
