i've gone to the local audi dealership twice to check out the s5, still no test drive though

 

frankly, i'm more than just "kind of excited"

 

test drove a meteor gray/oxblood red s5 2 wks ago, u can see my comments on the other thread in cartalk. car was priced out at 57 large with all the goodies. i really liked the rearview camera and the ipod link in the glove compartment which can be controlled by the mmi knob is da bomb. audi interior's amongst the best if not the best in terms of finish (carbon fiber, nappa leather, aluminum trim). but it's a heavy car, almost 4000 lbs with the quattro. seemed slow off the line in 1st gear although although 0-60 is 4.8 sec.

the angeleye leds are blinding!

what's interesting is only 3 s5s are scheduled for delivery to my local audi dealership through summer 08. right now in addition to the meteor gray demo (which can't be sold for 6 months) got a red and black/black at the dock, blue s5 is due in march 08. the dealership which also imports exotics has more maserati granturismos scheduled for delivery than s5s lol. only 2 r8s though and 1st one (gray) is already purchased. black/black r8 scheduled for march or april 08 delivery but with a markup of 50 large over msrp fuggedaboutit!

 

Reliability? You know it's an Audi, right?

 

Never mind, I forgot the 3 series is the new benchmark for reliability.


Dammit, can't a guy be a little different?

 

Both cars have pretty much have the same front grille, yet the S5 still looks better to me...can't figure out why,
