hi guys, my gf has a 2007 Nissan Sentra anyone know how to program the door locks to automatically lock when the car is in DRIVE and unlocks when in PARK ??? Its so annoying that we have to press unlock/lock every time to lock or unlock the car.

 

I thought it would do that automatically...

 

thats what i thought too...it reminds me of my sisters scion tc..so annoying that you have to press unlock/lock each time...does it even have the automatic lock feature? grrr

 

Is the feature available on any level of Sentra? If so, it should be easy to do. If not, then the ECU likely does not have that ability without some sort of aftermarket help. Maybe upgrading the alarm may do it since the alarm's brain may add that functionality...

 

My gf's sentra doesn't even have power locks

 

grrr to sentras!!! good thing its a lease tho..although it sounds confusing since shes at 42k plus and her lease states a 39 month lease with a limit of 15k miles per year. Does that mean she has a limit of 45k only and then a penalty of per mile after that ????

 

No-- it should be (15,000/12) x 39 = permitted miles before penalties apply.

 

^+1 she should have another 6-7K left..
