Thanks for being more specific...that helps a lot more.

I took both the 4 cylinder and V6 out for another test run over the weekend (along with a few Subies for a second look). I noticed the 4 cylinder was noisier than the V6 while cruising, but nothing outrageous.

I'm more surprised that you thought it was gutless though. I guess I could appreciate the great power in the 4 cylinder since I'd literally just finished test driving the Impreza and Legacy 2.5i (both auto). The pick-up was much greater on the Altima, IMO. Of course, the V6 is just crazy, but I'd be more than happy with the power produced from the 4 cylinder in most daily conditions.

I think the Altima 2.5 and 3.5 has the CVT. I rented a 07 Maxima and it had the CVT, I didnt like the feel of a CVT, under hard accerlation it just holds the revs and not the up and down of the tach.
