actually E36 and E46 are very reliable... tons of ppl on bimmerforums have no problem with their S52 or S54 engine.

I haven't have any problem with my M so far, and I actually don't think I would mind making visits to my dealer for the following reasons.

1. loaner choice: 328i, 328ci, Z4, 525i, X3, and X5
I wouldn't mind to drive them every other month lol

2. the excitement and joy of driving ///M make up for your dealer visits =)

S2K is really fun to drive.

 

 

I had a friend with a S/C'ed and Aftercooled '06 S2K back in fall of '05. The kit came out very soon after the release of the 2.2L motor.

 

Correction... Fall of '04 on a '05 S2k...

The '06 S/C kit was just released.
