Shit, no wonder Honda V6 transmissions are so shitty...Water-S must've built them.



But the Jetta should stand up to more abuse from a maintenance standpoint. The engine does require 5w-40 synthetic oil, and also has a large 6L sump, so the recommended 10K intervals have plenty margin of error built into it. The Toyota AW 6-speed Auto should be pretty reliable as well, and is a "fill-for-life" unit; unlike the Honda 5-spd Autos, the Toyota AW units have been quite reliable in the recent years.

But I do consider the Jetta to be a better buy, at least in my book. I've been looking at a Jetta VP, Malibu Maxx, Camry, or Civic for myself recently...

Honda Civic all the way. Easier to maintain, more reliable...and just simply a better buy. The VW Jetta is over-priced.
