Thumbs up 2006 Honda Ridgeline...Help me mod it!

I recently bought a Honda Ridgeline since my wife and i have wanted/needed a pickup for over a year now (both cars too low and small) and now that both our cars will be paid off in a month or two we pulled the trigger. I picked the Ridgeline because i was looking for a comfortable, 6cyl, 4dr pickup that i could get with sunroof since i use it everyday....the Ridgeline was the best to fit the bill.

The reason for this thread is that thanks to this website and its members I was able to mod my TL with tasteful and subtle mods. Over the years i recieved tons of great comments and ideas to get my TL where it is today. So since you guys seem to have good taste, pls give me ideas to help me mod my Ridgeline.

Below are some pics sent to me by the guy who sold it to me. I have since installed darker tints. Right now i have a couple things high on my priority list.

Number One: wheels
The wheels are the weakest part of its looks with the measly 17's and small tires. I'm debating whether to just put on some meatier tires and just call it a day or to go with bigger wheels (20's are looking more and more decent on truck these days).....as long as they are not chrome i would consider anything.

Number Two: Lights
Interior and exterior....just get some 5-6k pure white lights all over to get rid of those ugly yellow lights.

What do you guys think or suggest for the two mods mentioned above and what else should i do?? Once again, you guys on here seem to have good modding taste so help me get some ideas.

Pics of Ridgeline as i bought it:

that looks nice. Since you are in florida you don't really need a real truck so I can see why you got this. And yea you need new wheels

You want to put bigger, heavier wheels on an already heavy quasi pickup?

RonJon Wheels are the best choice, perfect fit and 18" weighs only 22.5 lbs, less than the OEM 17" wheels.

Very nice congrats! The exhaust on this truck sounds nice stock but I think you could put an intake on it if you really wanted. You can get all the smd led interior and license plate lights at ijdmtoy.com (I got them there and they look great). Aside from the wheels maybe some sidesteps to match the roof rack?

I like those RJ rims. Get those.

I would just do the rims and stop there.

i would focus more on tires than wheels. go for that offroad look! you could get away with stock wheels if you get some big boy tires.

debadge, and maybe blackout out the headlight housings and clear the corners. if you decide on blacking out the headlights, then maybe plastidip the front and rear emblems as well. how about 1,000k hids for the fogs for a deep yellow fog light look? (you could probably get low beam and fog hids for $100 total online).

BMW wheels might look great (if not out of place), but they will not be hub centric since BMW and Acura do not share the same center bore specs. Vibrations may be present with non-hubcentric wheels.

Researched a little bit more...it seems those are X5 replicas so i assume they are aftermarket bore with hub rings.

Why does it mildly annoy me when someone comes on here and claims their product is the end all be all and all others are inferior or will give you problems that you can avoid by ONLY buying their product?

Sorry, appreciate the awesomeness of the RJ brand and wheels other items but IMHO let the products and everyone's word of mouth and praise sell them.

Anyway, BOT...MAS, you're funny dude, honestly, I've wanted one for the longest time. Friggin truckbot that is also SUVish inside, gets decent MPG, has a bed AND a cooler and drives like an accord. My father in law has one and I love it. I know it's counter intuitive and productive to have a truck but I'd still do it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/H-R-SPORT-LO...item43a9855acb

Start with that, HID's top and bottom (low beam and fog), Led interior...maybe CF or gloss black vinyl on those chrome "h" looking things that surround the Honda emblem on the front. Probably some sick super bright bed lights...
I think stance being nice and the other stuff, (maybe upgrade the subwoofer) is more important and the foundation to help you decide on what wheel route you would go.

and in conclusion, since I started with a rant, I agree with RJ about the style of the wheel and the color looking awesome on that Ridgeline...I would just suggest a 20" instead of 18.

Or you know what other wheels I love (seen em on the jeeps) is those 5 spoke black truck wheels with the silver star on em...looks military(ish).

^^^Another good comment....thx bro. So good to have a couple good comments and ideas.....all this "not a real truck" BS was starting to piss me off (haha). You and i seem to have very similar tastes in cars. I think the Ridgeline has real potential to look cool and different.

For wheels, I'm thinking 20's because for its size it shouldn't look over sized and would fill the wheel well nice with some nice rubber. THinking something simple like 5 or 6 spoke will be a subtle touch. I'm pretty torn on the color though. Since the truck is silver i wonder what color wheels will make good contrast. So far i've been liking those X5 replicas and i found them in "hyper black" (middle one in pic below)....i know i wont do chrome and i think silver wheels on silver car will be too boring.

Any suggestions on other wheel style and/or colors??

PS----i'm with you on the insanely bright bed lights (would look real cool and would be very functional).

About the shameless plug, I have to mention these things since we are the only company on the content that makes wheels specifically for these cars for the same reason I mentioned, because people run into headaches with universal wheels. headaches like rubbing, inner fender interference, vibrations at higher speeds, bake caliper clearance issues, etc. So it's my duty to mention these things before someone gets wheels and rolls off looking great, but is pissed when their steering wheel shimmies or if they have issues making broken U-turns because the wheels don't fit properly. Otherwise we wouldn't be so successful if there wasn't a need for Acura Exclusive perfect fitting wheels.

I know it's not a Ridgeline, but we also have these available in 20":

Ron, I agree...I guess it just seems like the approach isn't that you're guaranteed to avoid it, it's more like if you don't get mine you WILL run into those issues, which you definitely CAN run into, but it's not guaranteed. Someone could get your rim perfectly spec'd on an Acura and get a bad balance and complain of the same issues.

Again, not knocking you or your product, believe it or not, the comment wasn't JUST directed at you

And again, I appreciate someone on this forum working on products meant for our cars and hope you continue to do so long into the future.

J.

MAS, the burning black is nice, but honestly that silver on the left is sexy as hell...something about the whole car looking like it was cast in aluminum is awesome. You can always add things accents to add color.

^^^ALL DAY LONG. Gorgeous set up in my opinion.

And I don't think he's even lowered...dude, those 20's on the H&R springs...will likely give it that slightly raked stance. I'd be all over that.

What would you do to make contrasts?? I already have pretty dark tints. I could plastidip the lettering and such but it seems like it needs something else to give it more contrast of colors. Maybe something so it's not just satin silver and black...some other color or tone of silver somewhere.

those black RJ's are money. Nice set of tires and call it a day. Well, that's how it would be if I were modding a ridgeline.

Why not try the ZDX 20" wheels?

They will fit, look OEM and you'll be the first one to have them

JNC has a great suggestion...I love those other 3 replicas you posted up too.

What else for contrast, I don't know...I wanted contrast with my NBP and black wheeks so I went with blue lugs/valvestem/headlight projector ring. Just subtle things you can do to add color. BUT, if you feel silver on silver will be drab then find a rim that has a great gunmetal color or something.

you got it. Yeeeehhhhaaaaaaaaaa

but for real, i'm sorry if I offended you or anything. I don't care about trucks at all, it's just that I live in a land of TRUCK, a frozen wasteland with farms all over the place, and I never see these do any real "truck" work if that makes sanse. But like I said, considering you live in a nice sunny place, you don't have to worry about shit like that. Good luck with it.

Back on topic: Are you looking to lower this truck? Someone mentioned H&R springs but I never knew they had suspension for this vehicle. I like how those 5 spoke ones you posted look on that car.

Here a pic i found with a silver Ridge with beefier tires as Thermon suggested. What do you guys think??? I think it doesn't do it justice so i'm glad i found it so i'll cancel my option of just bigger tires to fill the gap better.
