2005 Gto

My little bro is selling his GTO to get something with 4WD and has been pushing me to buy it. It is a 2005 6 speed with about 29k miles. He bought it a year ago with 12k miles and has taken great care of it (heck, I have helped him wash it). It has a Corsa sport exhaust and is otherwise stock. He is wanting me to buy it for just under $20k. Should I pick it up?

From what I have been seeing, the price isn't a steal, but it also isn't extrodinarily high. I do love the car and have been browsing the GTO boards for a while . . .

Yes but I would try to get him to drop the price a little. I got my 05 with 6500 miles for the same price from a dealer.

Ha, we have both been to China-so for those who have been, he tells me that he is giving me the "good friend discount"

What is it worth? $19k?

IF you do not want to pay that price, your brother shouldn't have any probs selling it at all. My brother just spent 3 months locating a GTO with the LS2 and 6-speed manual in a color he liked.

There are tons of '04s (LS1) and the '05-'06 with automatics to be found, but the LS2 6-speeds in the good colors have gotten hard to find and "used" prices are actually higher now than last fall when there were still a few new ones on dealer lots.

FYI, Bro payed 26K OTD for an '06 spice red 6-speed with 5K garage kept miles on it in January after a three month search.

Fun cars! Go for it. I gaurantee you can get your money back out of it if you decide you don't want it after a few months.

Sorry - I meant Jabodacious's brudder.

Your brudder should sell you his car for $18K, because that's about what he'd get on a trade in.
