2003 was the year of nissan...

Nissan had one hell of a year with cars... g35, 350z, g35 coupe, nissan altima... they did great!! I have respect for that.

BUT i think 2004 will be the year of honda. Honda always plays catch up, but when they do then its HUGE.. remember when the 99 TL came out? That thing sold like hot cakes... just like the MDX does now.

Now with the new accord coming out.. i think honda is ready to make acura a sportier image. They already had a make over on most of their dealerships from red to blue.

Heres my thoughts...

in 2004 acura will.... make the MDX more powerful...maybe?
All new TL will debut... i bet it will be smoking.. i mean if they put all those toys in the accord.. just picture what the new TL will have!!!

I just think acura is setting up to make a big splash next year... any other thoughts?

Well said ... I can't add any more except to say that I agree. I think right now I have the best product from each at this time - the RSX-S and the G35. For those that haven't driven the RSX-S it is SOLID ... not the type of car for all folks, but solid and well directed to the market it is sold in. The G35 is 1 month old in the garage and I have to tell you - wow.

However ... G35 enjoy your time cause I am sure Honda/Acura has something in store ... they always do. I do remain skeptical that they will move to an AWD or RWD that is needed to compete on the true sport platform (I realize that the ITR and RSX-S defy this commonly held believe).

All I can say is ... go competition ... go capitalism ... the consumer wins

hmm, i wonder what motivated you to write this thread?

I agree that there will be big news for Acura, but let's not forget the RL and NSX. I hope the RL doesn't get a V8 and becomes just like all the rest. It's time for a change...especially in that market. I don't want to see a new RL unless it has the high performance hybrid engine...now that's progress and it will sell. If Acura does make the TSX, i feel Acura will price it like BMW does with the 3/5. The TSX will be cheaper than the TL, but loaded it will be in TL terratory and a loaded TL will be more than todays TL (not by much)...if that makes any sense...

Those three will probably win best in class....

MDX will get bump in HP w/ the intro of the 3.8L v6.
New TL with a redesign and bump in HP
Introduction of the the TSX which will battle the 3 series, a4 etc.,

Does anyone know if the 5-speed AT in the new 240HP Accord is the same as in the CL-S/TL-S? Not to beat this dead horse into a million pieces, but does it appear that Honda has fixed the auto tranny problems, or are they still failing? My wife is Hell bent on getting the Accord even though I tell her "NO WAY!". Remember, I went through this shit once before and I'm speaking from experience, not "what ifs?"

What's the story on the tranny?

I hope they make some good decisions this comoing year, because mycars lease is up in 1 year from now, and if they dont have a newer model of the tl or a spicer engine it or in the MDX, i will be forced to move elsewhere, probally to a used GS400, or even a used 540. i may also get a maxima or I35. who knows. \ wg
