2000 S4 Bov

Sup Fellas

Anyone know where to get a good BOV for a 2000 Auto S4? My buddy just purchased an S4 but neither of us know of any good sites to get a decent BOV. Googled some stuff with no luck.

thanks for any help!

I wouldn't worry about that right now, if it still has OE K03 turbo's they are going to "blow" sooner or later at which point you can add the BOV's when you replace the turbo's.

If you really want your car to sneeze, check out www.vwvortex.com I am sure someone can help on the B5 S4 forum - or just search it there.

My coworker just gotone and he said dont put a bov in it that is just asking for trouble. He did something that was suggested to him on Audiworld that he is putting down 290whp so he claims. Once I get my TL-S , I'll take him to the highway to see what's up.

A chipped S4 is pretty quick, but on stock turbo's your just asking for turbo failure. But with an upgraded ECU(chip), exhaust and K04's you've got a pretty fast car.

Oh man, right after my last post he took me outside for a "spin"....HOLY SHITBALLS is all i have to say.

Good thing is that he is a Dealer so he will only keep this car for a while until someone buys it. Hopefully it doesnt blow up before he sells it. He purchased it at a dealer auction for 13k even. Good deal? He showed me the book value and it said $14.5k with that mileage.

I agree, but the die hard B5 and B6 S4 folks don't like the V8 because its not as easily tuned. But you have, I think 340hp from the factory with no turbo lag(which means no turbo failures), to me it seems better but the boost happy S4 owners don't see it that way.

Wheres scalbert been? He knows a lot more.

They say BOV are worthless on my car (1.8t). They say to go with a diverter valve instead. http://www.stratmosphere.com/hyperboost.htm is where i got mine.

Dont do any mods on that car without doing research. They be sensitive yo. BOOM!

Depends. I have a buddy who went over100k on his stock turbos and was fine, till his timing belt broke. So while he was replacing the valve stems and crap, he added K04s. OH MAN that car hauls ass....

But i also know guys who have stock cars with low miles that have blown their turbos. Its just too compact under the hood where the turbos cant get cool air. At least thats what i hear.

I don't know about you guys, but my friend Johnson had a 370+ awhp S4 and he wasn't running a BOV. If I remember correctly, it's because the system was designed to be closed loop.

He won't be running one on his "new" S4 which has even more power.
