1998 GSR- GONE....But there is a happy ending

Like the title says, Someone rear ended me in my 98 GSR. She was totaled. Got a check from the insurance company and......

I traded in my truck along with a nice down payment from my insurance payout and bought a 2012 dodge charger SXT Rallye- Midnight black, with the 8.4in Nav, spoiler, roof and the 8spd tranny.

I actually did this feb 27th and have been meaning to get on here. So far I LOVE this car. Its rated at 292hp and has enough pep to keep me interested. Its a blast to drive in sport mode and the mpg is pretty good. I've already taken her to Indianapolis from Maryland and averaged 32mpg round trip. In town/ highway mix for my commute i'm at 27-28 consistantly.

As for mods i plan to tint the windows this friday at 20%, i'm also looking at a super track pak blacked out grille from mopar and then last I am pricing out intakes. So far I am very happy with my purchase. Sticker price was 318xx and out the door with taxes, tags and title i paid just over 25k. I thought it was a fair deal. I will post pics with the tint this weekend.

Very nice...I LOVE the new Chargers...I really want the SRT.

Lots of choices for intakes...check out www.stackperformance.com I have their CAI.

Hopefully in the next year or two the engines codes will be cracked and you can tune it.

sorry man this friday i'm getting the tint done, and then ordering the blacked out grille. I hate the chrome on the front. I will def post more pics.

I wanted the black top package but was not willing to pay the dealer markup on them. I've found the Super Track Pak R/T grille thats flat black for under 269 from a dealership down here, i'll just pop out the R/T badge and call it a day.

Someone killed the GSR?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......another Integra dead.

Glad you weren't hurt seriously (assuming since you are posting).

Nice pickup, the new Charger is edgy and the interior is miles ahead of anything else I've seen in a Chrysler product.

Congrats! I didn't realize the new V6s are rated at almost 300hp. Wow! That paired with the 8spd must be a blast. Best of luck with it!

I have to say in the first month of ownership I am in love with this car. Some of the things i like for anyone whose interested in buying one.
1: They are affordable: The sticker price may scare you, but after 3 weeks going between dealers, they really wanted to sell a car. Sticker on mine was almost 32k, and i paid just over 25 with TTT. I think the price was 24,333. They have decent rebates also.
2: It does have 292hp, but not a lot of TQ, this motor really comes to life after 4k rpm.
3: The paddle shifters on the steering whell are nice, they are not plastic, they are metal (not sure which kind).
4: The touch screen is easy to use, which big icons, so moving through the screen does not take forever.
5: the dash trim is REAL aluminum.
6: The sport mode on the 8spd sets the shift points much higher than normal. It really is like driving two different cars, the normal mode is for MPG, and the sport mode is for fun.
7: MPG is great for a car of this size.
8: You do not even notice the transmission shifting, you feel second, third, then you don't even know its shifting another 5 gears.

Negatives:
1: If your tall, you may want to consider another ride.
2: The navigation is Garmin software. Its only an 895 dollar option, but its looks just like any Garmin GPS out there, but its also affordable. I would have liked to have seen something unique to dodge.
3: MPG on the hwy is out of this world, in city though its comparable to the V8.

so far that's all i have!
