Unless this was his Integra or it was a Type-R how is an Integra going to hit 144mph?

144mph doesn't seem to far out of the realm of possibilities

144 is quite plausible with light mods.

New York State and 21 years old. I imagined him driving an automatic Integra LS with a sketchy head gasket, worn plugs, and bald tires:

Guess this is as good of a place as any to bring it up.

If you're going triple digits are you automatically getting cuffed?? Lets say on the lower side of it, like 110ish

All depends on the cop. I can say a 101 in a 40 is a no LOL.

Depends on the cop & state's laws.

In Tx., 25mph over the limit warrants reckless driving, which is where jail time comes into effect; speeding alone does not. Viper owner I've met a couple times once reported getting a ticket for 12x in a 70mph. In the county he was stopped, the max. fine for that offense is $300, and that's all he got.

In NY, 40 mph over gets you 11 points and 11 points gets you a suspended license. You could certainly get arrested under NY's Reckless Driving statute though it wouldn't be up to cop to yank your license, that's the judge's job.

Did just on 140 in my 95 Teg GSR on 360 back in the day.
Certainly possible. Was lightly modded-I/H/E.

Not sure if it's still the case, but a girl I worked with once, her dad was an HPD officer. She was telling us that, per dad, 50 over, double the speed limit & anything over 100, was considered a felony (I'm guessing felony reckless driving? )

It'd have to be. You can't be arrested for speeding in Texas alone. There has to be a second charge.

I don't see that anywhere in the Transportation code. Source?

Definitely not a state law.

No. A lot of years ago I was clocked at 110 in a 75. The cop asked me what the big hurry was and I told him I was on my way to the PX at Homstead AFB. He was a former AF guy. written down as 85 in a 75.

Texas has a few roads with 80 and 85 MPH limits, so 105 is only 20 over.

And the saddest part is people here are so slow I feel like I'm doing a felony if I got 10 over.

Seriously. WTH, did not expect this at all. In Ohio the passing lane generally runs 5~10 over the limit as a minimum. It isn't hard to run with a pack of cars doing 15~20 over. Cops' rule of thumb is not to pull anyone over until they hit about 15 over (unless you are suspicious for other reasons) - my friend has been police in multiple locations around the street for 10 years.

In Texas the passing lane is at BEST going the speed limit, often 5 to 10 under, and I rarely have the guts to go more than 7 over since I'm flying by everyone.

My Ohio modus operandi was 20-30 over on highways, scoring no tickets in my first 15 years of doing that.

Oh and - Alex Roy calls Ohio the worst state for speeding - god knows why - it now seems the easiest to me.

I once got pulled over doing 110, on the fwy(not here though), cop says wtf are going that fast. My excuse(really the excuse): i didn't know where i was and my friends took off on me and i was trying to catch up with them. Gave him my FL license and military id. 10miins later, "don't ever F*cking do it again! and left. Funny thing was that i my friend on the phone laughing his ass off.

it all depends on the state law and cop, in parts of nj i heard they lock you up for doing over 90mph, that being said i was clocked 118 on 50 and well i got the ticket but i could drive away, it also depend how you gonna talk to the cop
