CTS-V ALL THE WAY! I never driven either car, but the CTS-V is one of the fastest production sedans in the market... So if you're looking for a hands down fast sedan than go for the V. If you're worried about gas mileage than I guess you can opt for the IS-F.

Both are nice cars, I would love to own either one but I would much prefer to own the CTS-V even if it does take a few more MPGs.... Backseat of the Lexus IS is too crammed.
actually only 1.5 votes for IS-F cause I am voting half on each. I might have owned a V if I could get one for what they are now 1.5 years ago.

Don't forget that the ride of the IS-F is awful; and that's putting it lightly.

I haven't driven one (I rode in one briefly...the ride was just ok), but literally EVERY publication that tested it bitched and moaned about it....to the point that they'd pass on the car.

From what I hear, the 2010 ISF has improved on that. Or was it the 2011 model?

Either way the updates on the ISF are suppose to be pretty amazing.

Oh my vote is the M3, er.. CTS-V

If fuel economy is a consideration for the buyer at this price point then they'd be better served cross shopping the IS350 with the CTS 3.6L.

As for the OP's shopping preferences and if I were going to select a sedan in this segment, it'd be the BMW M3 which is a relative bargain compared with the IS-F and V.

Seem like everyone has the V favor 3 to 1. Man...sometimes I feel the V might have too much power for me (especially with mods) Just want a streetable power car and don't plan on taking it to the drag strip. My only concern is that the V still have the wheel hop issues since it was first produce in 04. Still hasn't been fix yet...based on what others have reported.

For the last month...i've been doing research on the F, so will be focusing on the V for the next couple weeks. I'm still open to both cars, but mainly looking for the right price. Will be happy with either car.

Wait, what?

1. I don't know where you have been doing your research, but there is no, repeat, no wheel hop issue in the current generation V. The problem you refer to occurred in the 1st generation V.

2. The beauty of both these cars is how streetable they are. I have daily driven my V for three years. With the transmission and suspension set to "tour" mode, the car is a Cadi. When both are set to "sport" mode, the car is fun to drive. The power is pretty easy to modulate on the street, even in my 650 hp (540 whp) monster. At the drag strip, you need drag radials. I daily drive in Sport mode.

My advice is to stop talking and just go test drive both to decide which one is the right one for you. Either of these cars is an awesome ride with controllable, streetable power.

What year did you ride in? They changed the suspension in 2010 and everyone on the F forums that has had both or ridden/drove both said it is 100% better. Also the ride in the 08-09 can be easily fixed with a good set of coilovers as well.

There is no wheel hop in the gen 2, its very drivable.

That's a first generation V. A nicely done V to be sure, but a first generation V nevertheless. The 2nd generation stands far above the first generation because GM actually hangs out in the V forums and gets feedback from owners. For example, they listened to the complaints about wheel hop and fixed it for the current V.

PS, hey Kamlung, you're going to be waiting a while for prices to come down on the V wagons. They are essentially built to order, and there are reportedly no more than 500 in the wild. They are priced accordingly. A guy on the V forum just posted a thread in the last week about his trouble finding a used V wagon....only 7 available at the time he was looking....2 sold by the time he called, 1 a lemon buyback, and he found one with most, but not all of the options he desired and nabbed that one.....from hundreds of miles away.

You are not crazy. The R/T Magnum has awesome power. You can get one in my neck of the woods for around $15k.

Edit: The SRT8, of couse, is a little more, if you can even find one.

Americans hate wagons why again?

Insanely practical.
