I've heard mixed things about how they're going to do it and seen pictures but then I talked to a dealer (cousin) of acura and he said its highly unlikely...but would be very cool...

lemme know if you heard anything please...

The rumor is that they might build a coupe off of the next generation TSX platform.

But since we all know that Honda/Acura is extremely secretive about their future models, we probably won't know anything specific for a long time.

They just killed the only other Acura coupe the RSX, so I doubt it.

Fuzzy, the RSX is a hatchback IMHO... the last coupe they killed was the NSX

Rumors of a coupe based TSX, rumors of a sub-NSX coupe... but all there are are rumors...

I've got my CLS 6spd w/ 49K miles, and I'm thinking I might wait awhile to see if Acura will "shit or get off the pot"... another 3 1/2 years before I hit 100K, and hopefully by then Acura will have something that I find interesting for sale in their lineup.

Looks like vtec.net is down, or I'd link their model matrix (which summarizes all rumors)...

acura needs to have some kind of sporty coupe in their lineup. I just dont understand why Acura cant do it like they did with the Legend. Thatr car was sporty, quick and pimp.

I hope the "something really nice brewing" is not designed by the crew that redesigned the MDX

Let me rephrase then..... 2 door

If anyone wants a 2 door they can take thier pick of Honda's.
IMHO there's no need for the Acura brand to have what the Honda brand already has in production.

All the recent news about Acura improving their image made me believe that a coupe will be back

my dad still has his 93/94 legend coupe. Pearl White. That car still looks great and its over 10 years old. When I was up there back in '98 he let me drive it some days. I felt like I was the sh*t!!

yeah i owned a legend sedan and a 5spd legend coupe right before selling em and buying my CL-S, and they truly were legendary. what acura needs to do is build a coupe based on the TL or RL design and i GUARANTEE they will have a winner in all sorts of demographics, that car would be a hot commodity.

Unless they make a coupe with rear or all wheel drive my CLS-6 will be my last ACURA

rsx is a three door. haha

but what if someone wants an upmarket sport coupe? imean there is the S2K (roadster), but what about something along the lines of a V6 rear wheel coupe. imean, it would be great to have a TSX coupe, but a front wheel, 4 cylinder? didnt the RSX do pretty well in that field? even if they make a TSX coupe, i dont know how well it would do compared to the Civic Si. if acura could make a sporty SH-AWD or rear wheel.. that would be great. which means it would fall under the sub-nsx category. i dotn relaly think the tsx coupe is nesacary

I agree that Acura needs a luxury and sports orientated coupe. A year and a half ago my final car shopping decision came down to a TSX/6sp and an Accord 6sp coupe. The difference between the two was approximately $600.00 Canadian, so price was not really a factor. I decided on the Accord because of the V6 power and the coupe body. I'm sure if Acura offered the same car at the time my decision would have been more difficult.

I'd love to get back in to RWD, but some of the mileage quotes I've been reading about scare me (like a mustang or g35c)...

What I really want is a lightweight 2+2 hard top RWD 4cly 6mt coupe... I'd get an S2000, but I really like to only have to insure a daily driver, and with winter and the lack of 2 rear seats the s2000 probably isn't the most practical car for me.

But we'll have to see what acura is going to do in the next couple of years..

For some reason I thought you had a TL. Looks like we have approximately the same car then, except I have LED taillights

Good taste in cars. Yeah, I like the LED's but the rounded trunk. I had the spoiler removed and trunk refinished, the emblems removed, and the splash guards painted to clean it up a little. I think the 06' looks better with the rear spoiler than the 05' does. Putting a few kilometers on your car? In 18 months I've only put on 12 000 km, which includes my girlfriend driving it to Vancouver twice. I would like to drive it more, but being a farmer my truck is primarily used for transportation.

Any issues yet besides the roof?

The 06 definately looks better with the rear spoiler. I think you've seen mine (it's in a thread here in car talk somewhere). I've got only 4900km on it in 3 months. That's not that excessive at all. My car is Graphite Grey Metallic, so the splash guards look okay in their natural black. I'm averaging 11.2L/100km with a heavy foot around St. Albert/Edmonton. On the highway with full A/C in this hot weather I was getting 8.1L/100km. I can do better without the A/C on the highway when it's not needed.

I haven't had any other issues with it besides the fact that the fake carbon fibre trim on the inside scratches easily (and so does the faceplate on the stereo).
