The DC5's best lap in the race is about right, usually it does around 1:09 or 1:10, but no doubt, the driver really screwed up the first 1 or 2 laps, ie, shifting up way before the redline? Otherwise, it would have held up well against even the S2k. The FD2 Civic Type R is simply a beast, 2:35.20@ Suzuka Circuit is even faster than a NSX Type S Zero:

Ok, I'm halfway through watching this race and the NSX driver sucks. Either that or they're just fucking around. Or, the CTR driver is that good. Either way, this race dosent mean shit. Time them individually and the times would be a hell of a lot different.

I am a hardcore NSX fan (my dream car is the NSX-R) and I find this hard to believe too. The driver of that Civic is Keiichi Tsuchiya, and indeed he is a very good driver (try do a search on him and you will find a lot of info) and he also owns a NSX-R, I doubt that he would shame his own car. The thing is, the new FD2 Civic Type R is very fast on a track.
But I agree, the NSX could've passed the civic earlier during the race, but to be able to achieve 1:07 on Tsukuba is very good.

haha, and yes I would say driver skill was a big factor considering Keiichi Tsuchiya is the "drift king"

yea, but keep in mind that all drivers in Best Motoring are professional race car drivers. But then, the S2K and DC5 drivers really screwed up at the beginning. Their best lap times are reasonable though. It would be nice if Gan San was driving either the S2k or DC5.
