things i did to the rear arent that obv. if u didnt notice: large drop, lower, more rafed roofline, more aggressive V shaped cut lines that allow for 03 shaped tails, moved the reverse lights, and swapped them with nicer turning signals. (05 RL style). also, took out the stupid emblem inset. new bumper, etc.

nice photoshop, its looks great. I have one critique though. Without the side character line, the rear sidemarker looks out of place.

 

yea, thats what a lot of ppl have said. if acura was to make a coupe, it should be a TL Coupe... like the legend coupe.

i guess i really should have called this thing a TL Coupe. the only reason i called it the 06 CL is bc it would get more ppls attention. if i wrote TL coupe, many would think of a weak photoshop of a simple door alteration to the TL

 

yeah it does seem out of place, maybe if it didnt buldge out, it would look better also if your going to have the back one you should add the front one too

This things looks amazing....great job, that is how I picture the TL coupe....not sure if they will call it CL.

 

just my two cents, but the windows look prelude-ish.... but i think it looks good, probably would say lose the rear side marker and add fender ones...

 

I love the leds, I wish our led tailights showed like that.

Awesome Job Jay, I would love to buy one...But the engine should be 350 to 370 HP in order to compete against the new up coming M4 and M5...and don't forget the headsup display...the new RL 2006 NAVI..Steering memory, and Xenon Foglamps away from the Bi-Xenon headlamps....and priced in the Mid to Low $50K.. The car should look like a spaceship at night...(Don't forget limited production only). I know it can be done using the MDX frame and AWD system and re-tuned engine. I don't think we are just dreaming. It can be done!. They did a great job with the TL but Honda should think outside the box!!! Take it one step further. Honda has the technology at hand but do they have the vision?

why would it compete with the M3? Wouldn't that be the aspec version of it. It should compete with the G and 3 series. With awd and 300hp it could do that in a heartbeat. Awesome job on the pictures.

Sorry for bringing up such an old post, but the car looks nice, the rear looks sick!!, the rest looks like a Prelude, the side rear window I dont like and its missing the side body strip that the 4 door has. Would love to see more pics.

If you want an acura to compete with an M3 Honda should make a different car... Maybe if they bring back the CL.. Otherwise this should be the TL couple.. just like the G35 has a coupe...

 

I just wanted to say that this CL PhotoChop is absolutely AMAZING. Whomever has the skills to do such a rendering should be making a SHITLOAD of money for ACURA or other car manufacturers. SEND YOUR RESUME DUDE. Your work is stunning.

In fact, I think other manufacturers should covet your services. Imagine what you could do for MB or especially BMW??? Their work is that of OLD MEN lately. They need fresh blood in their design studio.

And, I'd get that CL in 2.5 seconds (that's how long it would take me to drive to the dealer).

BTW, do you feel like taking a stab at the current rear of the 350Z, which I think is horrendous? If you have the time, use your magic on a Z.

Definitely photo shopped. But regardless, it's a very nice looking CL. There is no way the 2006 CL will look like that when it comes out. Remember the concept TL on autoshow with clear lense? But every TL that ever came out so far had stupid red lenses in the back instead of clear. If new CL does come out, it'll look JUST like our current TL with 2 doors...i'd much prefer TL, i like 4door.

thanks for all the compliments guys, yea this thread is pretty old. the steering wheel got fucked up. i acidently highlighted the wheel along with the A pillar. and when a skewed the pillar back to give it a sleeker look, it must have done the same to the steering wheel

Nah. I love the MB CL ever so much. I think it's a beauty. But this CL rendering isn't a dupe of that.

BTW, the next-gen MB CL is gonna look hot. If I find the photo in my 400+ collection of car mags, I'll toss it up here.
