05 Maxima vs TL

Hey I was checking out Nissans website and looked at the loaded Maxima. Looks pretty nice like that different "sjy view" sunroof heated rear bucket seats etc.. any way have any of you seen this car in person? What did you think of it? Price wise the TL and Maxima are about the same...

What I like about the Maxima is it can easily be had under invoice, plus things like XM radio are optional (that's one option I'd gladly give back from my TL if it wasn't standard)

But that's about the only thing I like about it. It just looks plain ugly..

i haven't seen it in person yet. I'll have a look. I do like the fact you can choose XM or Sirus if you do want sat radio. I also like that sky view sun roof. other then that have to have a look. tt

The Maxima is nice looking on the outside. But the interior is nasty. I sat in one at the car show again last week. OMG even the updates are nasty. Look at the Altima. Its pretty much the same size inside, much better interior, IMHO, a little better looking now with the updates they did. You can get nav, hid, xm, in the altima as well.

sorry dude, Acura never has had the name Cache that european luxury cars have or even what Lexus has.

reading the topics on this list and hearing the complaints you guys have with your TL's, It would be hard to argue that it's better built than the Maxima

Funny, I'm not hearing too much about rattles or falling headliners in the new Maxima (ugly as it may be).

Close race, but i'd pick the TL, due to the exterior.

but engine for engine, VQ>J-series

Ok, to address the "TL problems" of rattles and stuff...I had a dealer handle it all under warrenty..it cost me nothing and everything is as it should be..

So comparing a TL to a maxima, (and both are in 'mint' condition) which would you rather have?

Well its obvious for me, as i test drove both and got the acura.

I don't even think the maxima is really in the same class, isnt the infiniti in the same class as the TL?

I'm still amazed that a loaded Maxima (w/Sens, DP pkg + Navi) MSRPs for $3G more than a TL 6MT w/Navi. But, I guess that explains why I see far more TLs than 04 Maximas around my neighborhood.

IMHO, Nissan overestimated the new Maxima's appeal.

There is no way in hell, any reason, to buy a 6th gen Maxima over a new TL. None.

If you like more interior room, a bigger trunk, headliners that stay put and transmissions to last then the maxima is your best bet

To each its own It all depends what each individual like... I like the TL better just because it looks so much better, when I test drove the TL, I sat in, I got the feeling of "this could be my car, but let me test drive it first" Then I drove to Nissan dealership afterwards to test drive the Maxima. It looks nice on the outside, but once I sat in... I didnt even feel like taking it for a test drive, so I just left. Few days later, I bought the TL after test drove Infiniti G35 sedan.

Good luck on picking your car and remember to always --->
